Abstract:
A method of operating a building elevator system within a building having a plurality of floors including: controlling a building elevator system comprising a first elevator system having a first elevator car and a second elevator system having a second elevator car; determining one or more sectors for the plurality of floors in response to at least one of a time of day, manual input, a density of the down peak traffic, and whether there is simultaneous up peak or inter-floor traffic, the one or more sectors comprising a first sector having a first plurality of floors and a second sector having a second plurality of floors; assigning the first elevator car to the first sector; and assigning the second elevator car to the second sector.
Abstract:
In an elevator system including at least two elevator groups having at least one shared floor and destination call appliances on at least the shared floor for receiving destination calls from passengers, destination call appliances are connected to group controls of the elevator groups. Destination calls from passengers are divided between the elevator groups based on defined division criteria.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a method and a system for dividing destination calls in an elevator system, which comprises at least two elevator groups, which elevator groups have one or more shared floors and also destination call appliances on at least the aforementioned shared floors for receiving destination calls given by passengers. The destination call appliances are connected to the group controls of the elevator groups, and the destination calls given by passengers are divided between the elevator groups on the basis of the defined division criteria.
Abstract:
An elevator group control apparatus collectively controls an elevator system where at least two cars can travel in each shaft independently of each other. The apparatus has a destination floor registration device installed at each hall for passengers to register destination floors and to indicate to passengers which cars will serve respectively for the registered destination floors. Priority zones and a shared zone for upper cars and for lower cars are set; a judgment is made as to whether the shared zone set can be entered by an upper or lower car; a car is put on standby based on the judgment a car is sent to a withdrawal floors, as necessary, after a service is completed. A car is selected as a candidate for assignment to a destination call if, according to the destination to be served by each car and the zones set for each car, so that the car would cause neither collision nor safety stop; and a car is assigned based on the selection.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for controlling the elevators of an elevator group in a building divided into zones comprising different floors in such manner that, at the passenger's departure floor, the elevators are given calls to floors beyond the zone limits of the departure zone. According to the invention, the aforesaid call is divided into two or more calls.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a control system for a plurality of groups of lifts (G1-G5), according to which system the passenger can input his destination at any destination call input device (TE) without having to know which group of lifts (G1-G5) serves the desired storey. In this way, in large buildings in which, for structural reasons, the ranges of storeys served by individual groups of lifts (G1-G5) are disposed adjacent one another in a confused manner, the passenger's search for the appropriate lift is facilitated. The multiple groups control system always selects the most favorable lift from all the available lifts and, when the storey ranges served by a plurality of groups of lifts (G4-G5) overlap, the selection is made from all the possible lifts. If the passenger has to change lifts, the connecting lift is shown on a display.
Abstract:
In a method for coordinating elevator group traffic in a building with one or more change levels constituting an end station for elevator groups operating above and below the change level, and in order to reduce waiting times in tall buildings, the control of at least some of the elevator groups operating on opposite sides of the change level is subordinated to a centralized control algorithm which, depending on the traffic condition, alters the control parameters for the elevator groups in such manner that, when the main direction of traffic is upwards, in order to serve the passengers of the elevators arriving from one side of the change level, either the elevators operating on the other side are caused to arrive more quickly to the change level to minimize the waiting time for the passengers arriving from the opposite side, and/or the departures of the elevators which have stopped at the change level are retarded to allow the passengers arriving from the other side to get on board, and that when the main direction of traffic is downwards, in order to serve the passengers of the elevators arriving from one side of the change level, either the elevators are caused to arrive quicker to the change level and/or the elevators on the other side are kept waiting to allow the arriving passengers to catch them.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for the processing of call inputs of a user by an elevator controller of an elevator installation in which a user inputs either an external call and an internal call or a destination call into the elevator controller, wherein the elevator controller generates at least two sub-calls in reaction to the internal call or the destination call, wherein the sub-calls comprise at least one external call and/or at least one internal call whose destination floor is different from the destination floor of the internal call input by the user. The invention furthermore relates to a method in which an elevator controller generates a destination call or an internal call in reaction to an external call. The invention furthermore relates to corresponding elevator installations designed for carrying out these methods.
Abstract:
An elevator system comprises at least two independently operable elevator cars in each of a plurality of elevator shafts within a building. The elevator system can include at least one first elevator shaft having a first and a second region, with the first region extending from a ground level to sub-ground levels, and with the second region extending from the ground level to a top floor. A first elevator car may move within the first region and a second elevator car may move within the second region, in the same shaft independently of each other.
Abstract:
The invention relates to elevator systems, in which a number of elevators operate in the same hoistway. The elevator system comprises at least one shuttle elevator and at least two local elevators, the elevator-cars of which are arranged to travel in the same elevator hoistway such that they can serve at least one shared transfer floor of a transfer level. The control system of the elevator system receives destination calls given from a destination call appliance, forms a plurality of route alternatives and allocates a destination call to one or more elevators by selecting the best route alternative. When allocating a destination call, the control system takes into account that the elevator cars of the local elevators that travel in the same elevator hoistway cannot simultaneously be at a shared transfer floor in cases in which the route alternative comprises a part-trip with a local elevator and a change of elevator at a shared transfer floor.
