Abstract: A transmission method for transmitting an emergency warning signal, pertaining to one aspect of the present disclosure, includes: generating control information, the control information including a flag indicating either presence or absence of information related to a region and, when the flag indicates presence, information related to the region; acquiring information related to emergency warning content; and generating the emergency warning signal including the control information and the information related to the emergency warning content. Thus, emergency warning (early warning) information can be transmitted with greater precision.

Abstract: Systems and methods presented herein provide for altering communications of a LTE wireless communication system operating in an RF band with a conflicting WiFi system. In one embodiment, an LTE system includes a wireless base station operable to transmit downlink communications to a UE in the RF band and to receive uplink communications from the UE in the RF band. The LTE system also includes a processor operable to detect the uplink communications from the UE, to estimate a location of the UE based on the detected uplink communications, to determine a communication capability between the UE and the wireless base station based on the location of the UE, and to downgrade the downlink communications from the wireless base station to the UE based on the determined communication capability to avoid interference with the WiFi communication system.

Abstract: Systems and methods presented herein provide for an LTE wireless communication system operating in a Radio Frequency (RF) band with a conflicting wireless system. The LTE system includes an eNodeB operable to detect a plurality of UEs in the RF band, to generate LTE frames for downlink communications to the UEs, and to time-divide each LTE frame into a plurality of subframes. The eNodeB is also operable to condense the downlink communications into a first number of the subframes that frees data from a remaining number of the subframes in each LTE frame, and to burst-transmit the first number of the subframes of each LTE frame in the RF band.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for broadcast signal frame using layered division multiplexing are disclosed. An apparatus for generating broadcast signal frame according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a combiner configured to generate a multiplexed signal by combining a core layer signal and an enhanced layer signal at different power levels; a power normalizer configured to reduce the power of the multiplexed signal to a power level corresponding to the core layer signal; a time interleaver configured to generate a time-interleaved signal by performing interleaving that is applied to both the core layer signal and the enhanced layer signal; and a frame builder configured to generate a broadcast signal frame including a preamble for signaling time interleaver information shared by the core layer signal and the enhanced layer signal, using the time-interleaved signal.

Abstract: A method for transmitting system information on a PBCH is described herein. A transmission/reception point (TRP) may generate a concatenated master information block (MIB) transport block that includes information bits associated with system bandwidth information, timing information, system frame number (SFN), a beam sweeping configuration, and a control resource set (CORESET). The TRP may then attach at least 16 cyclic redundancy check (CRC) bits to the concatenated MIB and then prioritize the concatenated MIB and the at least 16 CRC bits based on content. The TRP may then perform channel coding of the prioritized concatenated MIB and the at least 16 CRC bits to produce coded bits using at least one polar encoder with a coding rate that is less than ⅓, perform rate matching via repetition on the coded bits, and then transmit the rate matched, coded bits on the PBCH of a radio frame.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for hierarchical communication for device-to-device (D2D) communications. In certain aspects, a method generally includes determining user equipment (UE) data comprising at least one of one or more parameters about the UE, one or more parameters about objects near the UE, or raw sensor data. The method further includes determining a first level for transmitting a first portion of the UE data based on content of the first portion of the UE data. The method further includes determining a first modulation coding scheme associated with the first level based on a mapping of a plurality of levels to a plurality of modulation coding schemes. The method further includes encoding the first portion of the UE data using the first modulation coding scheme and transmitting the first portion of the UE data from the UE to at least one second UE directly.
