Abstract: A method for ammonia (NH3) decomposition to hydrogen (H2) and nitrogen (N2) includes introducing and passing a H2-containing feed gas stream into a reactor containing an industrial waste-based nickel (Ni-SMR) catalyst at a temperature of 500 to 900° C. to form a reduced Ni-SMR catalyst; introducing and passing an NH3-containing feed gas stream through the reactor in contact with the reduced Ni-SMR catalyst at a temperature of 100 to 1000° C. thereby converting at least a portion of the NH3 to H2 and regenerating the Ni-SMR catalyst particles to form a regenerated Ni-SMR catalyst, and producing a residue gas stream leaving the reactor; and separating the H2 from the residue gas stream to generate a H2-containing product gas stream.

Abstract: According to one or more embodiments, a zeolite beta material may be made by a method that may include adding a parent zeolite beta in a basic solution to form a basic zeolite beta suspension, adding water to the basic zeolite beta suspension to form a dilute basic zeolite beta suspension, hydrothermally treating the dilute basic zeolite beta suspension to form a hydrothermally treated mixture, and separating from the hydrothermally treated mixture a solid zeolite beta material consisting essentially of polymorph-A and polymorph-B. The molar ratio of polymorph-A to polymorph-B of the solid zeolite beta material may be greater than molar ratio of polymorph-A to polymorph-B of the parent zeolite beta.

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a catalyst for liquid phase reforming of biomass derived from hydrotalcite, a method for preparing the same, and a method for producing hydrogen using the same. The catalyst is a mixed metal oxide catalyst, the catalyst is a nickel-zinc-aluminum mixed metal oxide of a hydrotalcite structure, and the catalyst is used for liquid phase reforming of biomass. The catalyst has an effect of providing a high yield of hydrogen by improving an efficiency of the liquid phase reforming reaction of biomass.

Abstract: The present invention is related to a process for the conversion of used cooking oil into aromatics (BTEX) hydrocarbon as petrochemical building blocks. The process provides an aromatic rich hydrocarbon from used cooking oil in the presence and absence of steam/hydrogen over supported bimetallic alumina-silicates zeolites. The catalyst contains no precious metal entities and may contain one metal form zinc (Zn), a second metal (X), comprising at least one selected from cobalt (Co), gallium (Ga), chromium (Cr), Iron (Fe) and third elements from cerium (Ce), boron (B) supported on alumina-silicates zeolites. The present invention relates to a catalyst excluding novel metals to produce aromatics in a continuous fixed bed reactor system under atmospheric pressure. More particularly, the present invention relates to a low-temperature process to produce aromatic over alumina-silicates zeolites. The process provides used cooking oil conversion of 84-89% with aromatic selectivity of 87-91%.

Abstract: A method for producing propylene (C3H8) via oxidative dehydrogenation (ODH) of propane includes introducing a propane-containing feed gas stream into a reactor containing an alumina-supported Ga2O3/La2O3 catalyst comprising Ga2O3 particles at least partially disposed on surfaces of a matrix comprising rough and irregular-sized La2O3 and alumina particles; passing the propane-containing feed gas stream through the reactor in contact with the alumina supported Ga2O3/La2O3 catalyst at a temperature of 500 to 600° C. to convert at least a portion of the propane to propylene (C3H6) and produce a propylene-containing gas stream leaving the reactor; and separating the propylene from the propylene-containing gas stream. The method has a propane conversion of up to 95% based on an initial weight of the propane in the propane-containing feed gas stream, and a propylene yield of up to 60% based on the propane conversion.

Abstract: A method for synthesizing a sol solution for forming porous alumina films having high heat resistance and high specific surface area and excellent adhesion to various substrate surfaces is provided. The method can include preparing an alkoxysilane and an aluminum solution separately, precipitating a silicon compound adsorbed on aluminum hydroxide in a solution of the alkoxysilane and the aluminum solution, and washing the precipitate filtered from the mixed solution with water to prepare a precipitate cake. A slurry solution is prepared by adding water to the precipitate cake, a pH adjusting treatment is performed on the slurry solution, and then an autoclave treatment is performed to prepare SiO2Al2O3 containing sol solution. A pH value of the slurry solution is controlled within a specific pH range in which the solution state of the SiO2Al2O3 containing sol solution after the autoclave treatment is a sol state.
