Abstract:
PURPOSE: A grape juice with increased antioxidant activity and a preparation method thereof are provided to remove the oxidized flavor from the grape juice during preservation, thereby securing fresh taste and flavor. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing a grape juice comprises the following steps of: irradiating far infrared rays to grapes; and drying the irradiated grapes to obtain the grape juice with increased antioxidant activity. The far infrared rays emit a wavelength within a range of 2 ~ 14 μm. The far infrared rays are irradiated to the grapes at 40 ~ 120°C for 5-60 minutes. The increase in antioxidant activity represents the increase in polyphenol content or in DPPH free radical removal activity.

An extract of Hibiscus cannabinus L., Malvaceae is provided to control the function of macrophage by inhibiting generation of TNF-alpha, mRNA expression of interleukin(IL)-3 and IL-12, and generation of nitric oxide(NO), prostaglandin(PGE2) and reactive oxygen species(PROS), thereby being useful for preventing and treating diseases by immuno-reaction. A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating inflammation comprises an extract of Hibiscus cannabinus L. Malvaceae as an effective ingredient, wherein the extract is prepared by extracting the Hibiscus cannabinus L. with at least one solvent selected from the group consisting of water, C1-4 alcohol, glycerol, propylene glycol, 1,3-butyleneglycol, ethylacetate, benzene, hexane, diethyl ether and dichloromethane, filtering the extract and concentrating the filtrate.

PURPOSE: An external use skin composition for skin whitening, containing Hibiscus cannabinus is provided to suppress malanogenesis without causing side effects and to ensure a skin whitening effect. CONSTITUTION: An external use skin composition for skin whitening contains 0.001-20.0 weight% of Hibiscus cannabinus extract as an active ingredient. The Hibiscus cannabinus extract is isolated using ethanol, normal butanol, diethyl ether, or an aqueous solution thereof. The external skin composition for skin whitening is used in the form of a lotion, astringent, cleansing cream, cleansing form, cleansing water, pack, powder, body lotion, body cream, or body essence.

CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing a raisin with increased antioxidant activity through a far-infrared drying process comprises the following steps of: irradiating far infrared rays to grapes; and drying them to obtain the raisin with increased antioxidant activity. The far infrared rays emit a wavelength within a range of 2 ~ 14 μm. The far infrared rays are irradiated at 40 ~ 120°C for 5-60 minutes. The increase in antioxidant activity represents the increase in polyphenol content. The polyphenol is selected from the group consisting of catechin, epicatechin, epigallocatechin gallate, gallic acid, resveratrol, epigallocatechin, and quercetin.

A whitening composition for external applications to the skin, containing kaempferol-3,7-o-alpha-l-dirhamnopyranoside is provided to suppress melanogenesis and to ensure excellent anti-freckles and skin whitening effect. A whitening composition for external applications to the skin comprises a kaempferol -3,7-O-alpha-L-di rhamnopyranoside as an active ingredient. The kaempferol-3,7-O- alpha-L-di rhamnopyranoside is derived from the kenaf. The kaempferol-3,7-O- alpha-L-di rhamnopyranoside is contained in an amount of 0.001~20.0 weight based on the total weight of the composition.
