Abstract: PURPOSE: A car assembly line using a GPS and a method for controlling the same are provided to compare location information of a code rail and a GPS and to supply location information which has reliability about RGV, thereby preventing equipment failure or assemble line to be stopped. CONSTITUTION: An automobile assembly line using a GPS includes a code rail, a GPS(140), and a control panel(150). The code rail detects the location of RGV by a reader. The GPS detects the location coordinate value of the RGV. The control panel receives a location signal value of the RGV and a hanger. The control panel compares coordinate value of RGV received by the GPS and location value of the RGV detected by the code rail.
