Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distillation column having high separation efficiency, in which the vapor amount is made constant all over the column including a feed section and a side steam take-off section.
SOLUTION: Partition walls DW are arranged substantially along the longitudinal direction of the distillation column so that the inside of the distillation column is divided into an upper zone 2 and a lower zone 4 of the feed section, an upper zone 3 and a lower zone 5 of the side stream take-off section, an upper common column section 1 and a lower common column section 6. A feeding mixture to be separated between the zones 2 and 4 of the feed section is in a wholly or partially vaporized state and/or the side stream to be taken off from the zones 3 and 5 of the side stream take-off section is in a wholly or partially vaporized state.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a known method for synthesizing astaxanthin so as to avoid defects of a conventional technology for connecting a 9C unit with a 6C unit. SOLUTION: The 9C unit is connected with the proper 6C unit by using a 3-methylpentenyn-3-ol derivative represented by formula (I) (wherein, R 3 is an ether transformable into hydroxy by hydrolysis, a silyl ether or an acetal protective group) in an organic solvent in the presence of lithium amide instead of butyllithium or a Grignard reagent. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a higher α,β-unsaturated alcohol in which engineering is easily performed. SOLUTION: This method for producing the alcohol represented by formula Ia or Ib [R is a 1-4C alkyl group; R is a group of formula II (R is hydrogen or a 1-4C alkyl group; a broken line is an additional double bond; and n is 0 or 1-6), hydrogen, or a saturated alkyl group] comprises (a) mono-ethynylating a ketone or formula: R -CO-CH2 -R in ammonia solution by using a basic catalyst, (b) optionally hydrogenating the alcohol of formula Ib on a Pd catalyst, and (c) subjecting the hydrogenated product to a purification distillation, and if necessary, reacting Ia or Ib produced by the steps (a) to (c) or by the steps (a) and (c) with an alkyl acetoacetate of formula IV [R is a 1-4C alkyl group], or a diketene to provide a methyl ketone, and using the ketone as a starting material in the steps (a) to (c).

Abstract: Se describe un catalizador soportado que comprende uno o mas oxidos metalicos como componente activo en un soporte catalizador para llevar a cabo una condensacion de aldol. El soporte catalizador es oxido de y-aluminio, el componente activo es uno o mas oxidos de los metales de tierras raras y la concentracion de los componentes activos, en base al peso del soporte catalizador, se ubica en el rango de 5 hasta 12% en peso. La invencion se refiere ademas a un metodo para la produccion de pseudoionona mediante aldolizacion de citral y acetona por medio de destilacion reactiva en una columna en presencia de dicho catalizador y se describe tambien la regeneracion de catalizadores soportados con una solucion alcalina acuosa.
