    Abstract: A process for coating internals in a reactor, except for the coating of electrically heatable, at least partly open-cell foams, with a catalytically active material or a precursor thereof, in which an aerosol which contains the catalytically active material or the precursor thereof as a disperse phase is provided and the aerosol is passed through the reactor at a rate in the range from 0.1 to 4 m/s, which is established so that the disperse phase of the aerosol is deposited on the internals in the reactor.

    Abstract: Gas streams containing soluble-salt forming gaseous pollutant and aerosol pollutant are treated by passing the gas at a specified velocity and temperature, and if necessary after saturating the gas with vapor, through a scrubbing column where it is washed with liquid, at a temperature of at least 2 degrees C lower than the gas temperature, to produce a vapor phase which is more than 100% saturated. Gas streams containing at least one soluble-salt forming gaseous pollutant and at least one aerosol pollutant, of particle size 0.01-10 micron, are treated to remove these by passing the gas at a velocity of at least 0.5m/s, at a temperature of 30-100 degrees C, and if necessary after saturating the gas with vapor, through a scrubbing column providing a contact area of 50-1000m /m packing, where it is washed with liquid, at a temperature at least 2 degrees C lower than the gas temperature, to produce a vapor phase which is more than 100% saturated. The scrubbing liquid may be water, acid, alkali or organic solvent.
