Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject polyurethane excellent in reactivity and mechanical characteristics, by reacting an isocyanate with a polyol containing a polyether polyalcohol having a specific structural unit, molecular weight and degree of unsaturation. SOLUTION: This polyurethane is obtained by reacting an isocyanate with,2 polyol having a molecular weight of 500-1000, including at least one kind of polyether polyol (preferably, including 5-30 wt.% ethylene group, based on the total weight of all polyoxyalkylene groups and having a hydroxyl number of 10-230 mgKOH/mol and functionality of 1.9-3.0) having a molecular weight of 500-10000 g/mol, degree of unsaturation of

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition having a long shelf life of a phosphorus compound and slight corrosiveness for metals by including the phosphorus compound and a specific stabilizer. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by including (A) at least one kind of phosphorus compound [preferably resorcinol bis(diphenyl phosphate) or the like] and (B) at least one kind of stabilizer which is a compound represented by any of formulae I to IV [R1 to R3, R5 to R12 and R17 are each H, a 1-10C alkyl, a 6-12C aryl or the like; (a) and (b) are each 1-5; (c) and (d) are each 0-10; (e) is 1-4; (f) and (h) are each 1-100; R4 and R13 are each a group of NCO or NHCOOR'; R' is an alkylpolyether glycol or the like; (g) is 0-5; R14 to R16 are each H, a group of (CH2)1-N=C=O or the like; and (l) is 1-20] (e.g. a compound represented by formula V). The amounts of the components based on the composition are preferably 99.99-80 mass % of the component A and 0.01-20 mass % of the component B.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an excellent abrasion resistance by compounding, at a specific wt. ratio, a thermoplastic polyurethane having a specific Shore hardness as well as an ethylene/propylene rubber, a modified ethylene/propylene rubber or a mixture thereof. SOLUTION: This is a compsn. comprising a thermoplastic polyurethane (A) having a Shore hardness of from 60A to 50D as well as an ethylene/ propylene rubber, a modified ethylene/propylene rubber or a mixture thereof (B), at the wt. ratio A/B=3/1-999/1. It also comprises optionally a plasticizer, a light stabilizer, a lubricant, a binding agent, a filler and a reinforcing agent. The ethylene/propylene rubber for use has a Mooney viscosity: L(1+4) (100 deg.C) of 35 or more and an MF1 (230 deg.C and 10 kgs) of 8 or more. The modified ethylene/propylene rubber is grafted with a reactive carboxylic acid or its deriv. such as (meth)acrylic acid, glycidyl (meth)acrylate or maleic anhydride.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous manufacturing method for granular TPU for manufacturing chemically a product of high quality, particularly of superior homogeneity and fluidity. SOLUTION: Organic isocyanato, a 500-8000 molecular-weight bifunctional polyhydroxyl compound and a 60-400 molecular-weight bifunctional chain extender are reacted together under the presence of a catalyst and if required, an auxiliary and/or an additive on a continuous conveyor belt 2 at 50-250 deg.C to manufacture a sheet-shaped product 3 first, and then crushed and homogenized in a crushing and homogenizing device 5 provided with a crushing and mixing member and disposed in contact with the terminal of the conveyor belt 2, and then melted and homogenized in an extruder 9 fitted directly on the homogenizing device, and lastly granulated in a granulating device.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a thermoplastic polyurethane containing noble metal salts, preferably salts of gold, silver, mercury, platinum, ruthenium, rhodium, palladium, osmium and/or iridium, preferably, in addition to the noble metal salts, at least one salt of an element of the fourth and/or fifth sub-group in the periodic table of the elements, especially, preferably as noble metal salts, silver salts, especially AgNO3 and/or AgCI. The invention also relates to animal ear marks, preferably laser-marked animal ear marks containing the thermoplastic polyurethane according to the invention. The invention also relates to methods for the laser inscription of thermoplastic polyurethane, the thermoplastic polyurethane according to the invention being inscribed by means of a laser.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for the continuous production of thermoplastically processable polyurethane elastomers, by metering a polyisocyanate (A), a proportion of 1-80 equivalent%, based on the isocyanate group content of the polyisocyanate (A), of a compound (B) having an average of at 1.8-3.0 hydrogen atoms having Zerewitinoff activity, with an average molar mass of 450-5000 g/mol, and a proportion of 12-99 equivalent%, based on the isocyanate group content of the polyisocyanate (A), of a chain extender (C), into a self-cleaning twin-screw extruder whose diameter is 32-62 mm, which is operated at shear rates above 6000 s−1 and residence times of 1-20 seconds, and then bringing the mixture from the self-cleaning twin-screw extruder into a second apparatus in order to complete the reaction.
