Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing chlorine in a fluidized bed reactor, a gaseous reaction mixture containing hydrogen chloride and oxygen flowing from the bottom to the top of a heterogeneous particulate catalyst that forms a fluidized bed. The invention is characterized in that said fluidized bed comprises insertion elements which divide the fluidized bed into a plurality of horizontal and vertical cells arranged in the fluidized bed reactor, the walls of said cells being permeable to gas and having openings for ensuring the exchange of particles of the heterogeneous particulate catalyst in the vertical direction in the range of between 1 and 100 liter(s)/hour per liter of reactor volume.

Abstract: Procedimiento para la obtención de cloro mediante oxidación catalítica en fase gaseosa de cloruro de hidrógeno, con los pasos: a) se pone a disposición una corriente gaseosa de alimentación I que contiene cloruro de hidrógeno, y una corriente gaseosa de alimentación II que contiene oxígeno; b) en una primera etapa de oxidación se alimentan la corriente gaseosa de alimentación I, la corriente gaseosa de alimentación II, en caso dado una recirculación Ia que contiene cloruro de hidrógeno, y en caso dado una recirculación IIa que contiene oxígeno, en una primera zona de oxidación, y se ponen en contacto con un primer catalizador de oxidación, oxidándose una primera cantidad parcial de cloruro de hidrógeno para dar cloro, y obteniéndose una corriente gaseosa III que contiene cloro, oxígeno no transformado, cloruro de hidrógeno no transformado y vapor de agua; c) en una segunda etapa de oxidación se alimenta la corriente gaseosa III a una segunda zona de oxidación, y se pone en contacto con al menos otro catalizador de oxidación, oxidándose una segunda cantidad parcial de cloruro de hidrógeno para dar cloro, y obteniéndose una corriente gaseosa de producto IV, que contiene cloro, oxígeno no transformado, cloruro de hidrógeno no transformado y vapor de agua; d) a partir de la corriente gaseosa de producto IV se obtiene cloro, en caso dado la recirculación Ia, y en caso dado la recirculación IIa, caracterizado porque el primer catalizador de oxidación se presenta en la primera zona de oxidación como lecho fluidizado, y el catalizador o catalizadores de oxidación adicionales se presentan en la segunda zona de oxidación en una carga de lecho fijo.

Abstract: The stream containing hydrogen chloride (I) and the stream containing oxygen (II) are fed into an oxidation zone. The hydrogen chloride is oxidized to chlorine. A gas and a water-free gas streams are remained through the cooling and drying. The stream reversal contains chlorine-rich, chlorine, oxygen and carbon dioxide, and the liquefaction is carried out by compression and cooling (6). The gas and the water-free gas streams contain chlorine, water, oxygen, carbon dioxide and inert gases. The Gas/liquid stream is separated into a gas stream containing chlorine, oxygen, carbon dioxide and inert gases and into a fluid stream containing chlorine, oxygen and carbon dioxide. The gas stream is fed into a membrane separation unit (9) and separated into the stream reversal and chlorine-poor, chlorine, oxygen and carbon dioxide containing gas by membrane separation. The liquid stream is separated into a chlorine stream and a stream containing oxygen and carbon dioxide by distillation. The chlorine-poor and the gas stream are led into the oxidation zone, and the chlorine poor is removed.
