Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyurethane useful as a material for coating by reacting a specified polyhydric alcohol with an isocyanate. SOLUTION: This polyurethane which is suitable as a material or component of a coating material is obtained by reacting a prepolymer (a) obtained by reacting a polyhydric alcohol having more than one isocyanate-reactive hydroxyl group per molecule with an aromatic or aliphatic polyisocyanate in a ratio of the number of the isocyanatte-reactive hydroxyl groups to the number of the isocyanate groups of below 1 with an isocyanate selected from the group consisting of aromatic or aliphatic polyisocyanates (b) and a chain extender (2) obtained by reacting a polyhydric alcohol (a) with a compound (b) having an epoxy functional group and additionally an alcohol-reactive functional group, a reaction product (b) of the reaction product with an α,β-olefinically unsaturated carboxylic acid, and reacting this reaction product with an amine having a reactive prim. amino group.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing shaped bodies, preferably for a film-like shaped body, comprising the following steps: I) compounding and melt extrusion of a mixture (I) comprising a mixture (II) containing a) 1 to 95 wt. % of at least a pigment (III) with a primary particle size ranging from 5 nm to 20mm, selected from the group consisting of one electrochemically inert solid (IIIa), of a compound (IIIb) capable of giving off lithium ions when charged, and a compound (IIIc), capable of receiving lithium ions when charged, and a mixture of solid (IIIa) with compounds (IIIb) or compound (IIIc), b) 5 to 99 wt. % of at least one polymer binding agent (IV), and c) 0 to 200 wt. % of at least one softening agent (V) in relation to the overall amount of constituents a) and b), wherein the weight percentage of mixture (II) in mixture (I) ranges from 1 to 100 wt. %, and excluding mixtures (I) comprising mixtures (II) containing a copolymer consisting of vinylidene fluoride (Vdf) and hexafluoropropylene (HFP) with a HFP content ranging from 8 to 25 wt. % as a polymer binding agent (IV) and a compound as a softening agent (V) which is selected from the group consisting of dibutyl phthalate, dimethyl phthalate, diethyl phthalate, tris(butoxy)ethyl phosphate, propylene carbonate, ethylene carbonate, trimethyl trimellitate and mixtures thereof.

Abstract: A Michael addition product for the crosslinking of polyurethane is prepared by mixing an acrylate with an amine. A Michael addition product (I) of formula (1a) or (1b) is prepared by mixing an acrylate of formula (2a) with an amine of formula (3a) or an acrylate of formula (2b) with an amine of formula (3b). Independent claims are included for: (i) a polyurethane (II) containing (I) or a Michael addition product prepared from ammonia and/or a 2-30 C hydrocarbon containing a primary or secondary amine group and a further group reactive with isocyanate or their mixture and/or an olefinic 4-30 C carboxyl compound as a crosslinking agent; (ii) a process for the production of (II) by mixing the crosslinking agent with the other components; and (iii) fibers, film, foam and molding compositions containing (II). Abstract: Polyurethanes (I) used as coating materials or components for the same are prepared by reacting (1) an isocyanate (II) with a chain extender (V).Compounds (II) are chosen from either : (A) prepolymers prepared by reacting (A1) a polyvalent alcohol (III) containing more than one hydroxyl group which can react with an isocyanate group with (A2) an aliphatic or aromatic polyvalent isocyanate (IV), in which the ratio of reactive hydroxyl groups in (III) to isocyanate groups in (IV) is less than 1 ; or (B) compounds (IV). (V) are prepared by (a) reacting a polyvalent alcohol (VI) with (b1) a compound (VII) containing an epoxy function and a functional group which can react with alcohols, to form a compound (VIII) and then reacting (VIII) with an alpha,beta-olefinic unsaturated carboxylic acid (IX) to form a compound (X), or with (b2) a compound (IX) to form (X) and then (c) reacting (X) with an amine (XI) containing at least one prim. amino group which can react with the alpha,beta- multiple bond in (IX). The sum of the amino and hydroxyl groups in (V) capable of reacting with isocyanate groups is greater than the number of isocyanate groups in (II). Also claimed are (i) the preparation of (I) by the above method, (ii) the use of (I) as coating materials or components for these, (iii) cross-linkable binder systems comprising (I) and a polyvalent isocyanate (XII) in which the ratio of isocyanate groups for (XII) to the groups in (I) reactive towards isocyanate groups is 0.1-2 and (iv) coated articles prepared by applying a layer containing one of these binder systems and then cross-linking.

Abstract: The invention concerns polymers (I) which are suitable as dispersing resins and are obtained by reacting: A. a polymer (II), obtained by reacting at least one compound (III) selected from the group comprising: a) an ester (IV) comprising: a1) an alpha , beta -unsaturated carboxylic acid (V), and a2) a C1-C25 alkyl alcohol (VI); b) an ester (VII) comprising: b1) vinyl alcohol, and b2) a saturated C1-C4 carboxylic acid (VIII); c) vinyl chloride; d) styrene or vinyl benzenes which carry a C1-C4 alkyl group on the benzene ring; in the presence of a compound (IX) which contains an N-oxyl radical function group; with B. at least one compound (X) comprising: a) between 50 and 100 wt %, relative to (X), of at least one compound (XI) selected from the group comprising: a1) an ester (XII) comprising: a) an alpha , beta -unsaturated carboxylic acid (XIII); and b) a C2-C10 alkyl alcohol (XIV) which carries at least one polar or acid group; a2) an amide (XV) comprising: a) an alpha , beta -unsaturated carboxylic acid (XVI); and b) ammonia or C2-C10 amine (XVII) which carries at least one polar or acid group; a3) N-vinyl compounds (XVIII); a4) styrene sulphonic acid or a vinyl benzene sulphonic acid which carries a C1-C4 alkyl group on the ring; and b) between 0 and 50 wt %, relative to (X), of at least one unsaturated ester.
