A display screen with a plurality of display lines contains a storage (34) that receives lateral offset values for each line to be displayed. When the corresponding line is to be displayed, the offset value is transferred from the storage (34) to an offset register (22), whose outputs control a multiplexer (26) to select an appropriately delayed output tap of a shift register, containing the signals to be displayed.
Abstract:
A digital data rester display apparatus in which character codes, character attributes and field attributes are used. Means are provided to specify the mode of operation and to select the control mode. Depending on the specified mode the storage pattern in the re-fresh memory is varied. A first control mode stores field attributes only and the second control mode stores character attributes. A third mode mixes both field and character attributes. In the first mode the re-fresh memory stores either field attributes or character codes in such of a plurality of sequentially addressable locations. In the second mode character codes and character attributes are stored at alternate address.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily detect the degree of deterioration of a battery in an apparatus which is equipped with a battery for supplying power by charge and discharge. SOLUTION: This is a computer device which performs power supply to the system body from a mounted intelligent battery 52 for performing charge and discharge, and this intelligent battery 52 is equipped with a voltage measuring circuit 70 which measures its own battery voltage, a current measuring circuit 63 which measures its own charge and discharge currents, a temperature measuring circuit 90 which measures its own temperature, and a CPU 62 which periodically reads in the battery voltage measured by the voltage measuring circuit 70, the charge and discharge currents measured by the current measuring circuit 63, and the temperature measured by the temperature measuring circuit 90. The system body is equipped with an embedded controller 41 which receives the information about the deterioration of capacity from the CPU 62 of the battery.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus which can identify a backup charging state of a battery, indicate the state and is convenient for a user to use. SOLUTION: An intelligent battery 52 for charging/discharging is mounted to a computer apparatus which supplies a power to a system body from the intelligent battery 52. The system body has a battery connection confirmation terminal 76 via which the connection of the intelligent battery 52 is confirmed, an embedded controller 41 which, if the prescribed communication with the CPU 62 of the intelligent battery 52 cannot be carried out after the information that the intelligent battery 52 is in a connection state is obtained from the battery connection confirmation terminal 76, decides that the intelligent battery 52 is in the backup charging state, and a display which indicates that the intelligent battery 52 is in the charging state to a user when it is decided by the embedded controller 41 that the intelligent battery 52 is in the backup charging state.
