Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk drive device, an error recovery processing method of the disk drive device and a disk drive controller, which are capable of contributing to prevention of decrease of the recording capacity and improvement of the reliability. SOLUTION: When the recording/reproducing operation by a recording/ reproducing part 4 is not normally completed, an error recovery process is executed by a control part 3. In the case where the error is not recovered even by this process, the recording/reproducing operation is re-executed against the region where the error is generated, after the standby of a specified time. When the error is still not recovered, the region where the error is generated, is tentatively registered as the error region.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the possibility to correct the reading error of data in a disk device and to effectively recover the error against the reading error due to the thermal asperity by making a head execute the reading operation in the manner of reducing the number of rotation of a motor to be lower than the prescribed number of rotation. SOLUTION: This disk device 100 consists of a controller pad 110 and a disk part 130, and the disk part 130 is provided with the motor 134 integrally rotating the disks 136A, 136B through a spindle 132. By this error recovering method, the number of rotation of the motor 134 is lowered than the prescribed number of rotation, and a reading frequency of the head is lowered to the frequency corresponding to this number of rotation to make the head execute the reading operation. Thus, the length of error bit of the read-out data influenced by the asperity is shortened, and the possibility of recovery by the ECC which is an error recovery code is increased.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the start-up method for the information recorder to use a computer system as quickly as possible. SOLUTION: When the information recorder equipped with an actuator arm for supporting a flexible cable is to be started up by this method, first of all, a power source is supplied (a process 201). Then, a start-up operation excluding production of a correcting tension data of the flexible cable is executed (a process 202). Afterward, an access command from a host computer is made to be in the executable state (processes 203 and 204). Subsequently, the production of the correcting tension data of the flexible cable is executed (a process 205). Consequently, the command can be processed prior to the production of the correcting tension data.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the device and method for efficiently implementing a head changeover by setting order of changing heads considering of offset amts. between individual heads, respectively. SOLUTION: The position of the head 82 is driven by a voice coil motor(VCM) 83, and the control on a spindle motor 81 and the VCM is implemented by a spindle motor driver 84 and a VCM driver 85, which are connected with a microprocessor unit(MPU) 86. An output signal of the head 82 is executed via an amplifier(AMP) 87, a read/write channel 88 and a hard disk controller(HDC) 90. The HDC 90 is connected with a memory 89, and the memory 89 is stored with an offset amt. table and a head sequence table as well. A read command is inputted to the MPU 86 by the HDC 90, and the head is positioned to implement the read-out of a prescribed data by the MPU86 with obtained seek objective information on the track, head and sector.
