Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a device whose removal prevention is required from being removed without damaging operability when removing a device whose removal prevention is not required. SOLUTION: This computer is provided with a device registering part 52 which registers information related with a device being the target of burglar prevention in a burglar prevention object device DB 53, a device event monitoring part 54 which receives the notification of information related with a removal request or removal action for the device, a device detecting part 55 which acquires detail information related with the device whose removal request or removal action has been made, a device identification part 56 for deciding whether or not the device whose detail information has been acquired is registered in the burglar prevention object device DB 53, a password authentication part 57 for requesting password authentication when it is registered in the burglar prevention object device DB53 and a warning control part 59 for issuing warning when the password authentication part 57 is not successful. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly control execution environment when a computer executes software according to the software to be executed by the computer. SOLUTION: When a sound volume value, etc., of outputted sound are changed at a state that a specified application program is executed, the changed values, etc., are registered in a sound volume setting data base by making them correspond to class names of the application program under execution after confirming whether or not the sound volume value, etc., after change are registered (170 to 182). In addition, the class name of the application program corresponding to a window to newly obtain a focus is acquired when the focus of the window displayed on a display screen is switched (156 to 162) and when the sound volume value, etc., are registered in the sound volume setting data base (affirmative in 164), sound volume, etc., of the outputted sound are changed (166, 168).

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect application stored in an area hidden from a user in a storage device such as an HDD from writing. SOLUTION: This computer system is provided with a BIOS 21 supporting boot of an HDD 11, which is divided into a user area 24 serving as an area working in a user environment and a host protected area 22 serving as an area protected from the user for holding data, from the host protected area 22 and supporting authentication for host certification to a PARTIES application 23 in the host protected area, and a PARTIES application access module 25 copying the PARTIES application 23 in an empty area of a memory 12 to create a pseudo-PARTIES application area 26. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transfer information between different partitions between the environment of a predetermined OS in a storage device such as a hard disk drive(HDD) and an area shielded from the OS. SOLUTION: This computer system is provided with a hard disk drive(HDD) 11 fulfilling the specifications of PARTIES(Protected Area Run Time Interface Extension Services) with the access environment of an OS 22 and a PARTIES partition being an area shielded from the OS 22 and a CMOS/NVRAM 12 for providing a work area for performing communication between a user mode module 26 to be operated in the access environment of the OS 22 in a user data management application 25 and a management mode module 27 to be operated in an environment corresponding to the shielded area. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To grasp the fact that a computer is used by any person other than an authorized user. SOLUTION: Since the authorized user himself or herself of a computer system activates a computer at 9:00 on Jun 7 in 2000 and at 8:30 on June 8 in 2000, the information on the activation of the computer at 23:00 on June 7 in 2000 shown by a code 1 suggests that the computer is unauthorized used by a third person other than the user.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption of an information processor without making its processing performance lower than before. SOLUTION: The information processor that controls data transfer between devices is provided having an operational mode determining part for determining whether the information processor is to be operated in a normal mode or a power-saving mode according to the state of the power of the information processor, and a data transfer setting part that, when the information processor is determined to be operated in the power-saving mode, compares the state of the information processor in the mode with the state of the processor in the normal mode and sets the number of signal lines used in the data transfer at a smaller value. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately set a device controller having two operation modes corresponding to the installation state of a device driver. SOLUTION: The device controller is operated in the two operation modes of an old operation mode in which it is operated by an old device driver and a new operation mode in which it is operated by a new device driver. For an OS, there is the case that the old device driver is introduced but the new device driver is not introduced. A BIOS sets the device controller to the old operation mode and activates a computer. In the operation environment of the OS, the presence/absence of the new device driver is inspected. When the new device driver is detected, control is shifted to the BIOS and the device controller is set to a new operation mode. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus enabling a user to stop transmission of radio wave without regard when the user powers on an information processor in a state where transmission of radio wave is prohibited. SOLUTION: The method for controlling transmission of radio wave generated by the information processor placed within an airplane comprises an acceleration detection step of detecting the acceleration applied to the processor; a flag setting step of setting a stop flag in response to the magnitude of the acceleration and that the magnitude of inclination of the airplane calculated from the detected acceleration is larger than a predetermined value; and a radio transmission stopping step of stopping transmission of radio wave in response to that the stop flag is set.
