    Abstract: PURPOSE: To accurately decide the time when the operation of a processor can be discontinued by controlling the supply of clock signals to the processor by means of a program that runs with the lowest priority in a multitask operating system. CONSTITUTION: The tasks to be carried out are switched at every time interval shown by a system timer 70 based on the task priority. A CCP(clock control program) controls the supply state of clock signals to a processor 10, and the lowest priority is given to the CCP. That is, the CCP runs only when no task should be carried out except for the CCP, i.e., the operation of the processor 10 can be discontinued. Therefore, the supply of clock signals can be accurately turned on and off to the processor 10 at every time interval that is shown by the timer 70.
