PURPOSE: A block information coding/decoding method using quad tree and a device thereof are provided to express conversion factor information and division information in a current conversion unit by using integrated code flag information and division information flag. CONSTITUTION: An image decoding device decodes integrated code block flag information of the current conversion unit(S1100). The image decoding device decodes the division information flag based on the size information of the current conversion unit and the integrated code flag information(S1110). When the integrated code block flag and the conversion unit information combining flag are used, the processes can be changed.

PURPOSE: An encoding method for hierarchical variable block conversion and a device thereof, and a decoding method and a device thereof are provided to convert and encode a differential block based on conversion type information. CONSTITUTION: An encoding device generates a plurality of prediction blocks by prediction encoding of encoding blocks according to a plurality of prediction mode information(104). The encoding device generates a plurality of differential blocks by the prediction blocks and the encoding blocks(105). The encoding device converts the differential blocks according to predefined conversion type information or adaptively determined conversion type information(106). The encoding device determines one of the converted differential blocks as a final block(107).
Abstract:
A sensory effect media generating and consuming method and an apparatus thereof are provided to generate and consume sensory effect media to maximize the effect of reproducing media. A sensory effect media consuming apparatus(402) includes an input unit(404) for receiving sensory effect metadata having sensory effect information on sensory effects that are applied to media, and a controller(406) for searching for devices(408) that reproduce the sensory effects and controlling the devices according to the sensory effect information. The sensory effect metadata includes effect description information for describing sensory effects and device control description information for controlling devices that perform sensory effects according to the effect description information. The input unit further receives the media. In this case, the media is packaged with the metadata. The sensory effect metadata further includes general information having sensory effect metadata generation information. The effect description information may include effect type information about types of sensory effects, identification information of devices, condition information of devices that perform sensory effect, and initial effect information of devices. The device control description information includes reference information for device identification information, synchronization information for synchronizing media and sensory effects, and parameter information for controlling devices.

A system and a method for providing a customized AD(ADvertisement) service system based on an open interface are provided to offer an efficient AD service by combining AD contents customized to each location/user characteristic and main contents with the open interface capable of receiving various CPs(Content Provider). A contents information obtainer(208) obtains information of main contents by requesting the information of the main contents to an open service gateway(105) in response to a contents request of a user terminal(101). A personal profile manager(209) stores and provides personal profile information. A personal EPG(Electronic Program Guide) provider(210) generates and transmits personal EPG information to the user terminal by using the main contents information based on the personal profile information. An AD requestor(211) transmits an AD contents request corresponding to a contents requestor to the open service gateway based on the personal profile information. The open service gateway includes an open API(Application Program Interface) provider(212) enabling the customized AD contents to be streamed on a scheduled AD insertion time by requesting streaming to the AD contents server.

A combined file format for a DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) content, a method and an apparatus for handling the DMB content of the file format are provided to store desired broad contents in a remote storage through communication network connected with a portable terminal, to watch DMB contents, and to enhance sharing/exchanging the contents among other terminals by using the specific information metadata and the protection/management metadata. A file format for a digital multimedia broadcasting(DMB) content integrates the DMB content, the specific information metadata, and the protection/management metadata. The DMB content includes at least one of DMB video, DMB audio and data. The specific information metadata describes the specific information of the DMB contents. The protection/management metadata describes the information of the protection and management of the DMB contents. The DMB video is decoded with MPEG-4 AVC. The data contents are transmitted through at least one protocol of a DLS(Dynamic Label Segment), an MOT(Multimedia Object Transfer), and a TDC(Transparent Data Channel).

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for electronic program guide are provided to promptly and accurately find out programs according to a user's preference by displaying program information in a weekly table of organization. CONSTITUTION: A database(100) stores broadcasting contents including date, time, genre, and rating of broadcasts, and meta data related to the broadcasting contents. An input unit(200) receives selections of users. A display unit(300) displays information. An electronic program guide unit(400) processes information inputted through the input unit and forms broadcast guide information of the corresponding week from the date, time, genre, and rating of broadcasts of the meta data of the database to display the same to the display unit.

PURPOSE: A device of streaming data for a digital data broadcasting service is provided to simultaneously support international data broadcasting transmission standards when encapsulating additional data contents to a data broadcasting transmission protocol, and to multiplex many data types, thereby simultaneously transmitting the additional data contents. CONSTITUTION: A system controller(25) controls a data streaming process for additional data transmitting. An additional data supplier(21) stores multimedia data by a control signal of a system controller, and multiplexes the stored data to transmit the data. An additional data analyzer(22) checks a transmission error of data inputted from the additional data supplier by the control signal, and analyzes the data to transmit analyzed result information and the data. A data broadcasting protocol encapsulator(23) encapsulates the inputted data to an international standard transmission protocol, and transmits the encapsulated data. A multiplexer(24) multiplexes a transmission stream packet as one transmission stream in consideration of transmission priority and a buffer model. A clock processor(26) inputs a system clock or a PCR(Program Clock Reference) of a data broadcasting transmission system, for synchronization of a data stream and a stream synchronization, and supplies a reference time.

PURPOSE: A transmission method in consideration of a mode of representing the contents of multimedia data and association with media is provided to organically combine metadata information described for each multimedia data with the multimedia data, transmit and utilize the combined data. CONSTITUTION: When multimedia data items are constructed in one scene structure, having correlation, metadata for each multimedia data is represented in such a manner that the metadata is represented for each media, and each media and corresponding metadata are expressed as scene structure information. The metadata for each media of the multimedia data items is included in the scene structure information to be transmitted together with the multimedia data items.
