Abstract: Composición de carburante que contiene en una cantidad principal de un carburante habitual una parte de al menos un producto de reacción que comprende un compuesto de nitrógeno cuaternizado o una subfracción del mismo, que contiene un compuesto de nitrógeno cuaternizado, obtenida del producto de reacción mediante purificación, pudiéndose obtener el producto de reacción mediante a1) reacción de un compuesto de ácido policarboxílico sustituido con hidrocarbilo con un compuesto que comprende al menos un grupo oxígeno o nitrógeno reactivo con el ácido policarboxílico, que en particular se puede añadir o condensar y que contiene al menos un grupo amino cuaternizable, obteniéndose un compuesto ácido policarboxílico sustituido con hidrocarbilo cuaternizable, y a2) su posterior reacción con un agente de cuaternización que convierte el al menos un grupo amino cuaternizable en un grupo amonio cuaternario, siendo el agente de cuaternización el éster de alquilo de un ácido mono- o policarboxílico cicloaromático o cicloalifático, en particular de un ácido mono- o dicarboxílico, o de un ácido policarboxílico alifático; o b) reacción de un compuesto de ácido policarboxílico sustituido con hidrocarbilo cuaternizable que contiene al menos un grupo amino cuaternizable con un agente de cuaternización que convierte el al menos un grupo amino cuaternizable en un grupo amonio cuaternario, siendo el agente de cuaternización el éster de alquilo de un ácido mono- o policarboxílico cicloaromático o cicloalifático, en particular de un ácido mono- o dicarboxílico, o de un ácido policarboxílico alifático, empleándose por equivalente de átomo de nitrógeno terciario cuaternizable aproximadamente de 1,1 a aproximadamente 2,0 o de aproximadamente 1,25 a aproximadamente 2,0 equivalentes de agente de cuaternización; y/o el compuesto de ácido policarboxílico sustituido con hidrocarbilo es un poli(ácido isobutenilsuccínico) o un anhídrido del mismo, presentando el mismo un grado de bismaleinización del 2 al 20 % en peso o del 2 al 15 % en peso, en cada caso en relación con el producto de reacción.

Abstract: Fuel- or lubricant composition comprises at least one reaction product comprising a quaternized nitrogen compound, or its partial fraction, which contains the quaternized nitrogen compound, and is obtained from the reaction product by purification, in a fuel or a lubricant. The reaction product is obtainable by reacting a quaternizable alkylamine containing at least one quaternizable tertiary amino group, with a quaternizing agent comprising e.g. an aliphatic polycarboxylic acid, preferably a dicarboxylic acid, which converts the tertiary amino group into a quaternary ammonium group. Fuel- or lubricant composition comprises at least one reaction product comprising a quaternized nitrogen compound, or its partial fraction, which contains the quaternized nitrogen compound, and is obtained from the reaction product by purification, in a fuel or a lubricant. The reaction product is obtainable by reacting a quaternizable alkylamine containing at least one quaternizable tertiary amino group, with a quaternizing agent comprising (a) an alkyl ester of a cyclo-aromatic or cycloaliphatic mono- or polycarboxylic acid, preferably a mono- or dicarboxylic acid, (b) an aliphatic polycarboxylic acid, preferably a dicarboxylic acid, (c) a hydrocarbyl epoxide optionally in combination with a free acid, or (d) a dialkyl carbonate, which converts the tertiary amino group into a quaternary ammonium group. Independent claims are also included for: (1) the quaternized nitrogen compound; (2) preparing the quaternized nitrogen compound, comprising reacting the quaternizable alkylamine with the quaternizing agent including (a)-(c); and (3) an additive concentrate comprising the quaternized nitrogen compound in combination with further diesel or gasoline fuel additives or lubricant additives.
