Abstract: PURPOSE:To facilitate the formation of the title material of any desired pattern, by electrolytically polymerizing a polymerization solution on only a nonmasked surface by using a polymerization electrode part of the surface of which is masked with an insulating substance. CONSTITUTION:In an electrolytic cell in which a polymerization electrode 4 part of the surface of which is masked with an insulating substance 3 (e.g., a plastic tape such as vinyl tape having a tackifier layer on one side) which can not be dissolved in or deteriorated by a polymerization solution 2 and a counter electrode 5 are set in lower and upper positions in nearly horizontal directions, the polymerization solution 2 (e.g., aniline) is electrolytically polymerized under conditions in which the surface area of an electrode 4 is nearly equal to that of an electrode 5, the distance between the cathode and the anode is larger, the temperature of the electrolyte which is the polymerization solution 3 is -40-30 deg.C, the current density on the side on which an organic polymeric film is deposited is 50mA/cm or below, and agitation of the electrolyte, which might form or increase polymer flock, is not performed to deposit the title material on only a nonmasked surface of the electrode 4.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent a sudden increase of the inner resistance during the operation, by fixing a negative electrode consisting of lithium or a lithium alloy to armoring cans through collectors, and securing the electrical connection between the negative electrode and the armoring cans. CONSTITUTION:As a negative electrode active substance, lithium or a lithium alloy is used. In this case, there is no restriction on the type of the lithium alloy, but an alloy of aluminum and lithium is especially preferable to have a good negative electrode property and a good plastic performance. Moreover, the negative electrode 4 is fixed to armoring cans 1a and 1b through collectors 6 and 9. In this case, there is no restriction on the material of the collectors 6 and 9, and an adequate form of stainless steel, nickel, aluminum, platinum, and carbonic conductor, for example, are available for this purpose, a stainless steel being especially preferable. Since a cell with the negative electrode of lithium or a lithium alloy has a high voltage, and a high energy density with little self-discharge, the stainless steel is preferable to be thin, being 5 to 100mum normally.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To readily and surely produce an organic high polymer material, e.g. polyaniline, etc., by providing an anode and cathode in the horizontal direction in an electrolytic polymerization method and further installing specific shielding well bodies in the vertical direction to carry out electrolysis. CONSTITUTION:An organic high polymer is produced by an electrolytic polymerization method. In the process, an anode 3 and cathode 4 are respectively provided in an electrolyte 2 contained in an electrolytic cell 1 in an almost horizontal direction and shielding wall bodies 5 having one end side in contact with or adjacent to the edge part of the electrode 3, preferably in a long sheet form and the end side extending to the other electrode 4 are installed in an almost vertical direction to carry out electrolysis. EFFECT:The aimed organic high polymer films having an uniform film thickness and hardly any unevenness in thickness between the edge and the central parts.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce a quantity of an electrolyte of a cell by using a compressed body to be obtained by compressed-molding a material impregnated with a solvent component to be used for the electrolyte of the cell or a liquid composed of an electrolytic component and a solvent component as an organic conductive high-molecular material. CONSTITUTION:For manufacturing a cell being provided with a positive electrode, a negative electrode and an electrolyte while using an organic conductive high-molecular material at least for either of the positive electrode or the negative electrode, a material firstly impregnated with an electrolyte to be commonly used for the cell and then compressed-molded is used as the organic conductive high-molecular material. Thereby, moldability of the organic conductive high- molecular material used as the electrode is improved thus enabling a quantity of the electrolyte of the cell to be reduced.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To lengthen the life of a secondary battery in which polyaniline is used in a positive active material as organic conductive polymer by charging the battery so that the discharge capacity per weight of the polymer is a specified value or less. CONSTITUTION:A battery is charged so that the discharge capacity per weight of polyaniline used as a positive active material is 90 Ah/kg or less. In a secondary battery using polyaniline as positive active material, the discharge capacity is kept in a high level, and the float life and cycle life, and especially the self discharge, which is a problem in the battery using the polymer, are improved to a level which is practically no problem. When the discharge capacity exceeds 90 Ah/kg, the life of the secondary battery is decreased.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To suppress increase in positive electrode potential in a high charge state and increase flatability of voltage in discharge by using polyaniline as positive active material and a salt containing bromine ion or iodine ion as electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:Polyaniline is formed by oxidation polymerization of aniline, and used as a positive electrode. Lithium, polyaniline, or graphite is used as a negative electrode. LiBr/propylene carbonate of LiI/propylene carbonate is used as electrolyte. By using these materials, a secondary battery is formed. By using a salt containing bromine or iodine ion as electrolyte, potential increase in a polyaniline positive electrode in charging is suppressed, and flatability of voltage in discharge is increased to obtain an efficient polymer battery.
