    Abstract: PURPOSE:To continuously produce a (co)polymer of a water-soluble vinyl monomer with good efficiency and controllability, by forming a thin-film flow of an aqueous solution of a water-soluble vinyl monomer and a reductive sulfur- containing oxyacid salt on the inner wall of a reaction cylinder. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous solution of a water-soluble vinyl monomer (e.g., acrylamide) 1 except alpha,beta-unsaturated carboxylic acid monomers and a reductive sulfur-containing oxyacid salt (e.g., sodium hydrogensulfite) 3 is supplied into a reaction cylinder 10 comprising a (double)cylinder from an inlet 12. Simultaneously, an oxygen-containing gas 2 as a parallel flow to the aqueous solution is supplied into the reaction cylinder 10 from an inlet 11 to form a thin film flow of the aqueous monomer solution on the inner wall of the reaction cylinder 10 by a stream of the gas 2 to react. Then, the resulting (co)polymer of the water-soluble vinyl monomer is separated in a gas/liquid separation cooling part 4, cooled, and removed via an aging part 5 and a pH control part 6.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve durability by using a specific polyurethane resin, copolymer resin contg. a vinyl chloride unit and ester compd. having specific acrylate double bonds as a binder and projecting radiations to the magnetic layer formed thereof. CONSTITUTION:Three kinds of the binders; the polyurethane resin which has the acrylic or methacrylic double bonds at the molecule terminal, has 5,000-40,000 number average mol.wt. in analysis by ger permeation chromatography, >=200kg/cm breaking strength in a tension test at 100mm/min tensile strength, 100-400% breaking elongation, >=150kg/cm 70% modulus and >=40 deg.C glass transition temp. in analysis by dynamic viscoelasticity, the copolymer resin contg. the vinyl chloride unit and the ester compd. having the (meth)acrylate double bonds expressed by the formula are used in combination as the binder. The radiations are then projected to the magnetic layer. The durability is thereby improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the amount of a dispersion agent and to improve dispersion stability and polymerization stability at the time of a suspension polymerization by effecting the suspension polymerization of at least one kind of polymerizable monomers in the presence of a slightly water soluble phosphate as a suspension agent, and one or two or more kinds of a specific sulfosuccinic acid diester salt. CONSTITUTION:In case that an antistatic agent and a coloring agent are dispersed in at least one kind of the polymerizable monomer, followed by effecting the suspension polymerization of said monomer in an aqueous medium, the suspension polymerization is effected in the presence of the slightly water soluble phosphate as the suspension agent, and one or two or more kinds of the sulfosuccinic acid diester salt shown by formulas I-IV. In formulas I-IV, R1 is 1-36C a straight chain or a branched chain alkyl group, alkylphenyl group having alkenyl group, etc., R2 is aryl, methacryl or 1-12C alkyl group, A is 2-4C alkylene group, (n) is a positive integer of 0-100, in case that R1 is satd. group, (n) is an integer of 1-100, M is a mono or a divalent cation, (m) is an ionic value or M. Thus, the used amount of the dispersion agent is reduced, and the dispersion stability and the polymerization stability of the titled toner at the time of the polymerization can be improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve output and durability in particular by coating a compd. having a lubricative group and double bonds in one molecule on a magnetic coated film which is preliminarily partially cured and curing said film, thereby bonding the lubricating agent layer onto the magnetic coated film. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic coating compd. consisting of a mixture composed of a resin compsn. having the double bonds of the nature that the compd. is cured by electron rays, solvent and magnetic powder is coated on a base and after the solvent is removed, the coating is subjected to a surface smoothing treatment to form the magnetic coated film. The magnetic coated film is then precured by projecting the electron rays thereon and thereafter, the compd. contg. at least one group having lubricity and at least one electron ray curing double bonds in one molecule is coated thereon. The magnetic coated film is cured by projecting the electron rays again thereto. The perfluoroalkyl acrylate expressed by the formula I is more particularly preferable as said compd. The migration of the lubricating agent in the magnetic layer is thereby prevented and various defects associated with the addition or coating of the lubricating agent are overcome.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a lubricating agent matrix having satisfactory mechanical strength by incorporating a compd. having a perfluoroalkyl group and double bond into a magnetic layer essentially consisting of magnetic powder and electron ray curing resin binder. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic coating compd. essentially consisting of the magnetic powder and electron ray curing resin binder is coated on a nonmagnetic base and is dried. The compd. having the perfluoroalkyl group and at least two double bonds in one molecule is coated thereon. The coating is dried again at need and thereafter, electron rays are projected thereto from above or the magnetic coating compd. essentially consisting of the magnetic powder and electron ray curing resin binder is coated on the base and dried. This compd. is preferably used at 1-10wt% by the weight of the electron ray curing resin binder. The bonding density of the compd. having the perfluoroalkyl group exhibiting a lubricating effect to each other or between said compd. and the binder resin is thereby increased and the lubricating agent matrix is formed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the dispersibility of magnetic particles while maintaining the mechanical characteristics which a specific polyurethane resin resin possesses by using said polyurethane resin as a binder for a magnetic recording medium. CONSTITUTION:The polyurethane resin which is produced from the polyketone compd. having at least two hydroxyl groups and expressed by formula I or II as a polyol component is used as the binder for the magnetic recording medium. In formula, n is 1-43 number and m is 1-53 number. The polyketone compd. has preferably 400-6000 number average mol. wt. and more particularly preferably 500-4004000 number average mol. wt. in terms of the flexibility and strong toughness of the resultant polyurethane resin. The number average mol. wt. of the polyurethane resin is 1000-100000, more preferably 5000-50000. The magnetic recording medium is obtd. by providing a magnetic layer formed by dispersing pulverized ferromagnetic powder in such binder on a nonmagnetic base. The specific surface area of the pulverized ferromagnetic powder is preferably /g.

CONSTITUTION:Carbon black is dispersed in a polymerizable monomer in the presence of polymer having amido groups in the side chain, ad the mixture is polymerized. Suitable polymers having amido groups in the side chain are copolymers obtd. from a monomer expressed by the formula (I), typically vinyl pyrrolidone, or those expressed by the formula (II), typically acrylamide, or copolymers containing N-methylol acrylamide, etc. as copolymer unit. A copolymer contg, vinyl pyrrolidone as the copolymer unit is most preferred.
