Der Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung betrifft ein neurophysiologisches Stimulationsgerät mit einer Auflagevorrichtung (30) zum Übertragen von durch das System erzeugten Bewegungen, zumindest umfassend eine Auflageseite (31) zum Auflegen auf das Stimulationsgerät, und eine Übertragungsseite (32) zum Übertragen der über die Auflageseite (31) aufgenommenen Bewegungen, wobei die Übertragungsseite (32) mindestens ein zumindest teilweise vorstehendes Stimulationselement (1) aufweist, welches zum Übertragen der Bewegungen und somit zur neurophysiologischen Stimulation geeignet ist. Weiterhin betriff die Erfindung ein neurophysiologisches Stimulationsgerät (40) zum Stimulieren eines Objektes mittels Übertragen von durch das Stimulationsgerät (40) erzeugten Bewegungen, zumindest umfassend eine Bewegungseinheit (41) und mindestens eine mit der Bewegungseinheit (41) gekoppelte Antriebseinheit (42) zum Erzeugen der Bewegung, wobei die Antriebseinheit (42) als Taumel- und/oder Wirbeleinheit ausgebildet ist, welche eine Taumel- und/oder Wirbelbewegung erzeugt.

A seat device is provided, comprising: a frame, a seat platform which is hinged to the frame so as to be pivotable between a completely folded position and a completely unfolded position, in which a user is allowed to seat thereon, and a spring mechanism with a variable overall spring constant, via which the seat platform is connected to the frame in a manner so as to be biased towards its folded position, thereby reducing an effort required by the user, who seats on the seat platform, for standing up therefrom, wherein the spring mechanism comprises a plurality of spring devices, each of which has an at least substantially constant spring characteristic which is at least substantially defined by a corresponding spring constant, and which are connected to each other in series, wherein the spring mechanism is provided such that, when the seat platform is at least substantially in its completely folded position, the variable overall spring constant is lower than in the case when the seat platform is at least substantially in its completely unfolded position, and wherein, when the seat platform is in its completely unfolded position, the overall spring constant is defined by the spring constants of only a fraction of the plurality of spring devices.

A legged robotic device is disclosed. The legged robotic device can include a mechanism formed at least in part by a plurality of support members coupled together for relative movement defining a plurality of degrees of freedom, at least some of the plurality of degrees of freedom corresponding to degrees of freedom of a human leg. The legged robotic device can also include a primary drive actuator operable to apply a force or a torque to the support members in a first of the plurality of degrees of freedom. In addition, the legged robotic device can include a second actuator operable to apply a force or a torque to the support members in a second of the plurality of degrees of freedom. The mechanism can be configured to move in a gait-like motion that emulates human gait. The primary drive actuator can be sufficient to actuate the mechanism to move the mechanism in the gait-like motion. The mechanism can be dynamically modified by actuating the second actuator.

The present invention also discloses a device for treating nasal congestion and/or relieving sinusitis symptoms in a patient, comprising attaching means and a vibration generating means; said attaching means are in communication with the patient's head in a location adjacent to said nasal cavity, nasal passageway or sinuses to be treated; said generating means are adapted to vibrate said attaching means, to vibrate the location adjacent to said nasal cavity or sinuses and thus improved mucociliary clearance of secretions in nasal cavity or sinuses.

A vibrating footplate operates at two or more vibration modes to provide stimulation to bone and muscle of a human body having multiple modes of resonance. The stimulation system (10) includes a floor unit (12) having an upper footplate (14) with cam followers (20) resting against cams (22). The cams are positioned near the four corners of the plate (32) and have three primary lobes (60) spaced at 120 deg. around the cam and three secondary lobes (62) spaced at 120 deg. in between each of the primary lobes (60). The primary and secondary lobes are of different heights so as to impart periodic accelerations respectively at different times having different amplitudes. The cams turn in unison and in the same phase.

Gemäss einem Aspekt der Erfindung besitzt ein Gerät zur Stimulation des menschlichen Körpers mittels Vibrationen eine Schwingplatte (1), die über erste elastische Elemente (2) an ein Zwischenelement (3) gekoppelt ist. Dieses Zwischenelement - es kann im wesentlichen plattenförmig ausgebildet sein und einen ähnlichen Grundriss wie die Schwingplatte haben - ist über zweite elastische Elemente (4) an eine Grundplatte (5) gekoppelt ist, welche dafür ausgebildet ist, im Betriebszustand des Geräts auf einer Unterlage aufzuliegen. Der Schwingungsanreger besitzt Gewichte (50), die von einem Antrieb in Drehbewegungen versetzt werden und die bezüglich einer Drehachse exzentrisch angebracht sind. Die die Gewichte führende Welle ist dabei vorzugsweise direkt - also nicht über elastische schwingungsdämpfende Elemente - an die Schwingplatte (1) gekoppelt und drehbar gelagert. Gemäss einem weiteren Aspekt der Erfindung ist ein die Gewichte (50) antreibender Elektromotor (26) nicht auf der Schwingplatte (1) sondern beispielsweise auf der Grundplatte (5) angeordnet und zum Beispiel über eine Gelenkwelle (31) mit einer Welle gekoppelt, an der die Gewichte angebracht sind.
