    Abstract: An access network apparatus is disclosed. The access network apparatus includes: a first modulator for modulating a first waveform optimized for unicast transmissions using a first modulation scheme; a broadcast modulator for modulating a second waveform optimized for broadcast transmissions using a second modulation scheme different from the first; and a modulation controller for enabling one of the first modulator and the broadcast modulator as a function of the type of information to be transmitted. An access terminal apparatus is also disclosed. The access terminal apparatus includes: a first demodulator for demodulating unicast transmissions; a broadcast demodulator for demodulating broadcast transmissions; and a modulation controller for enabling one of the first modulator and the broadcast modulator as a function of the type of information received.     Abstract: Systems, methods, and programs for activating a feature (310) on a wireless device (300) are described. In one design, the wireless device (300) receives a request to activate the feature (310) associated with the wireless device (300), wherein the feature activation request is initiated by an application executed on the wireless device (300). A feature (310) includes additional functions and services that add capability to or accessed by the wireless device (300), such as, but not limited to, voice mail, voice recognition, access to GPS, MPEG functions, and access to a data channel or increased data rates. The wireless device (300) executes a component (305) on the wireless device (300), the component (305) having logic operable to configure the wireless device (300) to access the feature (310). The wireless device (300) then activates the feature (310).

Additionally, the system provides to wireless device users with an option to participate in the allocation of their respective wireless device assets, such as memory, application, ringtone, wallpaper and the like and define conditions, such as content type, time period, and the like, which is to be met in order for the allocation of the wireless device asset to occur. In one or more aspects, wireless device users may be compensated in some form based on their willingness to opt-in to the asset allocation plan.
