    Abstract: PURPOSE:A resin composition that is made by adding an epoxy compound and an organic sulfonate salt to a thermoplastic polyester, thus showing high shape stability in the molten state and having high heat stability and mechanical properties. CONSTITUTION:To 100pts.wt. of a thermoplastic polyester, preferably polybutylene terephthalate, are added (A) 0.1-40, preferably 1-30 parts, of an epoxy compound bearing at least one of epoxy groups in the molecule, preferably a bisphenol- A type epoxy compound of formula I (n is 0-10) and (B) 0.001-10, preferably 0.005- 3 parts, of at least one selected from organic sulfonate salts of formula II (M is Li, Na, etc.; R', R'' are methyl, ethyl, etc.) and sulfate salts of formula: R(SO3M)n (M is a metal; R is an organic radical; n is 1 or more) and they are kneaded under molten.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:A flame retardant polyester composition that is prepared by adding a crystallization accelerator to a modified polyester containing a specific organic phosphorus compound or a mixture of the same and a thermoplastic polyester, thus being good at moldability and mechanical properties. CONSTITUTION:To (A) 0.1-100 parts by wt of a modified polyester from the acid component comsisting of (a) 0-99 mol% of aromatic dicarboxylic acids as terphthalic acid and (b) 1-100 mol% of an organic phosphorus compound of formla I (R1 is H, 1-20C alkyl; R2, R3 and R4 are H, halogens, 1-8C alkyls), e.g., a compound of formula II and III, and the glycol component of (c) 2-10C alkylene glycol are added (B) 0-99.9 parts of a thermoplastic polyester not containing (b) to form a polyester mixture or modified polyester, to which (C) 0.01- 5 parts of a crystallization accelerator as talc is added wherein the phosphorus content in the moldified polyester or polyester mixture is adjusted to 0.001-3 wt%.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject polyester composition containing polymer particles composed of a polymer having a constituent unit of a monomer residue including an unsaturated double bond-containing compound residue and exhibiting an exothermic thermotropy under a specified heating condition and capable of forming a film excellent in traveling properties and abrasion resistance. CONSTITUTION:Polymer particles synthesized by emulsion polymerization of a compound having an unsaturated double bond, e.g. divinylbenzene, ethylvinylbenzene or styrene and having 0.3mum average particle size are dispersed in ethylene glycol and the resultant dispersion is further treated with a sand grinder to prepare an ethylene glycol slurry containing the polymer particles. On the other hand, dimethyl terephthalate, ethylene glycol, manganese acetate and antimony trioxide are heated at 145 to 235 deg.C to conduct transesterification and phosphoric acid and the polymer particle-containing ethylene glycol slurry prepared in the preceding process are subsequently added thereto. The resultant mixture is subjected to polycondensation reaction at 290 deg.C under a reduced pressure, thus producing the objective polyester composition containing the polymer particles exhibiting an exothermic thermotropy within a range of 50 to 200 deg.C when being heated at 10 deg.C/min heating rate.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a biaxially stretched laminated film having scratch resistance, running properties, flatness and oxidatation stability CONSTITUTION:A biaxially stretched lamifnated film is obtained by biaxially stretching a compsn. prepared by adding 0.1-10wt.% of polyoxyalkylene glycol with an average mol.wt. of 1,000-200,000 and 0.01-10wt.% of particles insoluble in polyester to polyes constituting a surface layer (sub-layer) so that the thickness of the sub-layer is set to 0.005-5mum. Therefore, this film is excellent in scratch resistance, running properties, flatness and oxidation stability and especially suitably used as a film for a magnetic recording medium.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a product having good scratch resistance even under a high speed running condition and excellent in surface flatness by adding inert particles positive in zeta-potential within pure water and inert particles negative in zeta-potential within pure water. CONSTITUTION:In a laminated polyester film consisting of a main layer and a sub-layer, the sub-layer is laminated to at least the single surface of the main layer. Herein, polyester constituting the sub-layer contains at least two kinds of inert particles insoluble in polyester. These particles contain 0.01-2wt.% of inert inorg. particles negative in zeta-potential within pure water and 0.01-2wt.% of inert particles negative in zeta-potential within pure water composed of aromatic carboxylate and at least one of an alkali metal compound and an alkaline earth metal compound with respect to polyester constituting the sub-layer. The thickness of the sub-layer is pref. 1/100-40/100 of the whole thickness of the laminated film.
