Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform measurement continuously for a long period without special electrolyte which must be replenished and replaced by using a sample liquid itself dissoved in chlorine dioxide, and measuring electrolytic current. CONSTITUTION:Two electrodes of a working electrode 3 and a counter electrode 4 or three electrodes of said electrodes and an additional reference electrode 5 are immersed into a sample liquid 2. The electrode 3 comprising noble metal or a carbon is relatively moved with respect to the sample liquid 2. Dissolved chlorine dioxide in the sample liquid 2 undergoes electrolysis, and a reduction current is generated. Then, the voltage of the reduction current is applied to the electrode 3 with an ammeter 6 with the counter electrode 4 as a reference in the case of two electrodes and with a potentiostat 7 with the electrode 5 as a reference in the case of three electrodes. Thus, the generated current is measured, or the short-circuit current between the electrode 3 and the counter electrode 4 is measured. Since the reduction current is proportional to the concentration of the dissolved chlorine dioxide, the concentration of the dissolved chlorine dioxide can be obtained by obtaining the relationship between the concentration of the dissolved chlorine dioxde and the value of the reduction current beforehand.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable measurement of an extracellular ATP concentration, an extracellular and intracellular ATP concentration and blank value switching in order in a short time by operating many pumps and injectors corresponding to a measuring object. CONSTITUTION:For measurement of an extracellular ATP (adenosine triphosphate) concentration, the injector 1 is rotated in order to change the passage to the carrier liquid (C1) after supplying a cell suspension (S) to the injector 1 and the injector 2 is simultaneously changed in order to send a luminous agent (E) sandwiching the luminous agent (E) with carrier liquids (C2) after supplying the luminous agent (E) to the injector 2. For measurement of an intracellular ATP concentration, an ATP-extracted solution (R) is injected into the sample passage 3 from the supply passage 10 before a cell suspension (S) injected between the carrier liquid (C1) by the injector 1 reaches a mixer 6. Blank value is measured by supplying only the carrier liquid (C1) and the carrier liquid (C2).

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to build an internal liquid tank in a composite electrode, so that the total structure of said composite electrode is made compact and easy to handle with, by fixing a water absorbing core material to an upper end of a communicating pipe section to extend through said communicating pipe section, a projecting pipe section and an electrode tube approximately to a connecting section of liquid. CONSTITUTION:An internal liquid in an internal liquid tank 3 is taken into a communicating pipe section 19 through either one of communicating holes 6, 7. The internal liquid is then guided along a water absorbing core material 20 into an internal liquid container 12 within an electrode tube 1. On the other hand, the air in the container 12 flows upward from a vent hole 18 of a projecting pipe section 17 in the communicating pipe section 19 to be discharged out of either one of the communicating holes 6, 7 to the tank 3. Two or more vent holes 18 are formed, so that the internal liquid, even if it remains by the surface tension between the core material 20 and the projecting pipe section 17, can escape from one of the vent holes. As a result, even when the communicating holes 6, 7 are formed adjacent to each other, the core material 20 becomes easy and ready to absorb the internal liquid. Further, the internal liquid in the container 12 is easily guided to a connection section 8 along the core material 20. Therefore, the distance between the communicating holes 6, 7 can be made short, and the length of the connecting section 8 can be shortened by the core material 20.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To permit easy measurement of enzyme activity over a wide measurable concn. range by using hydrogen peroxide electrodes to make electrochemical measurement of the concn. of hydrogen peroxide, thereby determining the enzyme activity. CONSTITUTION:The standard material in a standard liquid or the material to be measured in a sample and antibody converted to a solid phase is brought into reaction. After an unreacted material is removed, an enzyme labeling antibody is brought into reaction and again the unreacted labeling antibody is removed; thereafter, a substrate is added thereto to cause enzyme reaction. After the reaction is stopped, the reaction liquid is drawn in a specified amt. into a measuring cell 2 where the hydrogen peroxide electrodes 3 and 4 are installed. A diluting liquid of the amt. corresponding to the drawn reaction liquid itself or a needed amt. is added to said liquid, then the liquid is stirred and mixed. The current value is determined by the electrodes 3, 4 and is converted to a voltage value in a signal processing part 7. The value is displayed on a display part 8. Since the value thus obtd. is the value corresponding to the concn. of the hydrogen peroxide existing in the reaction liquid, the concn. of the component is determined from the voltage obtd. in such a manner.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make measurement in a stable moist state by allowing paper to be measured to contact a flat glass film having a measuring electrode, disposing upper and lower blocks each having a through-hole to face each other via an O-ring and measuring the pH of the moistened paper. CONSTITUTION:A fibrous material such as cotton 15 is held on the inside of the glass film 12of the composite glass electrode 6 so that foam is not generated near the film 12. A liquid junction part 13 is provided to the top end of an outside peripheral glass tube enclosing a reference electrode 11 by lapping and fitting the measuring electrode 10 and the periphery at the top end of the glass film 12 which is the partition wall of the electrode 11 to connect the internal liquid 9 of the electrode 11 to an internal liquid tank 19 on the outside. A head pressure is exerted to the liquid junction part 13 to gradually discharge the liquid 9 to the outside. The paper 5 to be measured is placed on the lower block 2 and the upper block 1 is placed thereon. The blocks 1, 2 are fixed via the O-ring 4. The film 12 of the electrode 6 contacts the rear surface of the paper 5 in this state and pure water, etc., are dropped from the through-hole 3 of the block 1 to moisten the paper 5, then the pH thereof is measured. The measurement is thus made in the stable moist state.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate waveform distortion due to glitch by latching alternately an output of a digital waveform generator, converting separately an analog signal, eliminating a part having a glitch, selecting alternately the analog signal and synthesizing the signals. CONSTITUTION:Digital values D0, D1 ... of each step of a stepwise triangle wave from a digital waveform generator 1 are given to latch circuits 11a, 11b synchronously with the leading of a basic clock CK0. The clock CK0 is given to the clock generating circuit to give clocks CK1, CK2 to the latch circuits 11a, 11b. The latch circuit 11a (11b) fetches digital data D1, D3 (D0, D2) given to the input synchronously with the leading of the clock CK1 (CK2), latches them until the next clock and the data is given to a DA converter 2a (2b). Then the outputs of the converters 2a, 2b are extracted alternately by each basic clock period and synthesized while shifting the latch point of the latch circuit and the result is outputted as an analog signal having a frequency to be synthesized.
