Abstract: PURPOSE: Provided is a method for producing spherical polyethylene powder which excludes the need for production of a polymerization catalyst, and simplifies the processing steps to save the costs and to improve the productivity. CONSTITUTION: The method for producing spherical polyethylene powder comprises the steps of: (a) dissolving a polyethylene into a good solvent to form a transparent and homogeneous solution; (b) heating a non-solvent which cannot dissolve polyethylene in a separate container at a temperature higher than the melting temperature of polyethylene; (c) mixing the homogeneous solution of the step (a) with the heated non-solvent of the step (b); (d) cooling the mixture to a temperature lower than the crystallization temperature of polyethylene to form an emulsion; and (e) separating and filtering the emulsion, removing the remaining good solvent and non-solvent with a washing solvent and then drying. The apparatus for producing spherical polyethylene powder comprises the means(1) for dissolving the polyethylene into the good solvent; a means(2) for heating the non-solvent; an agitated crystallizing device(3) for mixing the good solvent with the non-solvent; a filter(4) for recovering spherical polyethylene particles; and a separator(5) for recycling the remaining polyethylene.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing amorphous aluminosilicate is provided which obtains high ion exchange power and high oil absorption power by optimizing gelation and aging conditions in manufacturing of amorphous aluminosilicate using sodium aluminate aqueous solution and sodium silicate aqueous solution. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises a process of gelling sodium aluminate aqueous solution and sodium silicate aqueous solution in such a manner that the sodium aluminate aqueous solution and sodium silicate aqueous solution are continuously gelled by controlling the number of revolutions of the kneader in the range of 90 to 150 revolutions per minute, and injecting the sodium aluminate aqueous solution and sodium silicate aqueous solution into a kneader maintaining the temperature range of 15 to 90 deg.C and having a volume corresponding to an overall length of 400 mm and diameter of 100 mm in an input speed of 8 to 11 L/min; a process of aging aluminosilicate reactant discharged in the gelation process in a reactor to which an agitator is adhered in the temperature range of 30 to 60 deg.C for 0.3 to 12 hours; and performing solid-liquid separation, drying and disintegration processes comprising reduced pressure filtration and water cleaning.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A preparation method of dearomatization catalysts for diesel oil is provided, which can keep high dearomatization activity by using platinum, palladium or their mixtures, mesoporous molecular sieve, pseudo-boehmite and acid solutions. CONSTITUTION: The preparation method of dearomatization catalysts for diesel oil comprises the steps of supporting 100 parts by weight of mesoporous molecular sieve with a SiO2/Al2O3 molecular ratio of 30 to 300 and a pore size of 20 to 50 Å with 0.1 to 2.0 parts by weight of platinum, palladium or their mixtures; adding 5 to 50 parts by weight of pseudo boehmite and 0.2 to 3.0 parts by weight of acid solutions, followed by molding; and calcining the molded matter at 300 to 600 deg.C for 4 to 6 hours.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A preparation method of lignocellulose based activated carbon is provided to prepare activated carbon having high density and high performance by a simpler preparation process compared to an existing preparation process. Abstract: PURPOSE: To separate volatile organic compounds from waste stream effectively, a hybrid membrane which is composed of porous membrane layer and non-porous membrane layer is provided. The porous membrane layer has the ability of concentration and has an effect on the characteristic of separation, whereas the non-porous membrane layer has the ability of purification and an affinity for volatile organic compounds. The hybrid membrane can improve the effectiveness of separation by picking out the merits of porous and non-porous membrane layers. CONSTITUTION: The hybrid membrane comprises a porous membrane layer which has the ability of concentration and a non-porous membrane layer which is coated with macromolecules that have an affinity for volatile organic compounds. On one side of the porous layer, a solution containing fillers, including aluminum nitrate, aluminum sulfate, calcium chloride and polyethylene oligomer, is applied, whereas on the other side of the porous layer, negative pressure of 5-300 torr is applied. After forming a porous layer on one side, polydimethyl siloxane oligomer is applied the other side so that a non-porous layer is formed.

CONSTITUTION: In a method for manufacturing spherical activated carbon by globulizing, oxidizing, carbonizing and activating pitch, the method for manufacturing spherical activated carbon is characterized in that the globulization comprises processes of suspending pitch powder having a particle size corresponding to a sieve size of 40 meshes or less into surfactant aqueous solution having a concentration of 0.1 to 1.0 wt.%; and growing the mixture into spherical particles having a particle size corresponding to a sieve size of 25 to 45 meshes as having temperature gradient conditions in which the mixture is cooled to a temperature of 20 to 40 deg.C after maintaining the mixture to a temperature of 75 to 95 deg.C for 10 to 30 min as agitating the mixture to an agitation speed of 200 to 800 rpm, wherein the pitch powder is obtained by adding 30 to 45 wt.% of aromatic hydrocarbon compound to the treated mixture, melting and agitating the mixture and milling the melted and agitated mixture after adding 1 to 10 weight parts of nitro aromatic compound to 100 weight parts of raw material pitch, melting and agitating the mixture and treating the melted and agitated mixture, wherein the grown spherical particles are refined by solvent extraction using an extracting solvent of hexane, wherein the nitro aromatic compound is nitrobenzene, and the aromatic hydrocarbon compound is naphthalene based compound, wherein softening point of the pitch powder is 80 to 95 deg.C, and wherein the surfactant used in growing of the pitch powder particles is polyvinyl alcohol aqueous solution.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for preparing a spherical low molecular weight polyethylene wax is provided, to simplify the reaction and to reduce the cost by using no polymerization catalyst and employing no pulverizing or separating process. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of heating a low molecular weight polyethylene wax at a temperature above a melting point to evaporate the unreacted oil component contained in the wax and to remove the deposited ash; dissolving the low molecular weight polyethylene wax in a good solvent to prepare a transparent homogeneous solution; heating a non-solvent having no dissolving power to the low molecular weight polyethylene wax, at a temperature above a melting point of the low molecular weight polyethylene wax; mixing the homogeneous solution and the non-solvent; cooling the obtained mixture to a temperature below the crystallization temperature of the low molecular weight polyethylene wax to prepare an emulsion by emulsion crystallization; and filtering the emulsion to obtain a spherical low molecular weight polyethylene wax, washing the spherical low molecular weight polyethylene wax with a solvent to remove the good solvent and non-solvent contained in the wax and drying the spherical low molecular weight polyethylene wax. Preferably the good solvent is a linear alkanol; and the non-solvent is a divalent alcohol or a polyol.
