Abstract: The method involves selecting an antenna mapping at a transmitting wireless transmit/receive unit (Tx WTRU) from a candidate set of currently available antenna mappings. Another antenna mapping is selected at a receiving (Rx WTRU) from the candidate set of currently available antenna mappings. A determination is made whether the currently selected antenna mappings are calibrated at the Tx WTRU. The selected antenna mappings are calibrated if it is determined that the selected antenna mappings are not calibrated. An independent claim is also included for a wireless communication system.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for selecting a beam combination of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antennas are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRUs) includes a plurality of antennas to generate a plurality of beams for supporting MIMO. At least one antenna is configured to generate multiple beams, such that various beam combinations can be produced and a desired beam combination selected for conducting wireless communication with another WTRU. A quality metric is measured with respect to each or subset of the possible beam combinations. A desired beam combination for MIMO transmission and reception is selected based on the quality metric measurements.

Abstract: A communications device with a switched beam antenna operates in a wireless local area network (WLAN) that includes a plurality of transmitters. The switched beam antenna generates a plurality of antenna beams. A method for operating the communications device includes receiving signals from the plurality of transmitters operating within the WLAN, identifying the received signals comprising medium access control (MAC) information, and determining a quality metric for each received signal comprising MAC information. A transmitter is selected based on the quality metrics. The antenna beams are scanned for receiving from the selected transmitter the signals comprising MAC information. A quality metric associated with each scanned antenna beam is determined. One of the scanned antenna beams is then selected for communicating with the selected transmitter based on the quality metrics.

Abstract: Un dispositivo (615) de usuario que comprende: una memoria en la cual se ha implementado un repositorio de certificados, el repositorio de certificados que tiene una pluralidad de estados base de referencia firmados, RBS, certificados, cada uno estando asociado con una aplicación y que comprende un estado base que es específico a una aplicación asociada y a un primer valor resumen de un extracto que indica si un estado de sistema real del dispositivo de usuario coincide con el estado base de la aplicación asociada; un agente de plataforma (620) configurado para recibir un primer comando de un retador (605; 610) para obtener una configuración de plataforma computada a partir de una configuración inicial especificada por el estado base del certificado de RBS firmado para la aplicación cargada para la cual el retador está interesado en verificar la integridad; y un módulo (625) de plataforma de confianza, TPM, configurado para recibir un segundo comando del agente de plataforma para comprobar el certificado de RBS aplicable a la aplicación cargada para la cual el retador está interesado en verificar la integridad, y obtener el certificado de RBS firmado del repositorio de certificados, donde: el agente de plataforma además está configurado para construir un segundo valor resumen de un extracto que indica si un segundo estado de sistema real del dispositivo de usuario coincide con el estado base de la aplicación asociada contenida en el certificado de RBS, y emitir un tercer comando al TPM para realizar una operación de verificación y extensión; y el TPM además está configurado para extender un registro de configuración de plataforma específico, PCR, controlado por el TPM y específico a la aplicación cuya integridad está siendo verificada para el retador, tras verificar que el primer valor resumen del certificado de RBS firmado es el mismo que el segundo valor resumen construido por el agente de plataforma, donde el TPM está además configurado para firmar el valor de PCR con una clave de identificación de atestación y enviar el valor de PCR firmado al agente de plataforma.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for securing location information and access control using the location information are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) includes a location sensing entity and a subscriber identity module (SIM). The location sensing entity generates location information of the WTRU and the location information is embedded in a message in an SIM. A trusted processing module in the WTRU verifies integrity of the location information. The trusted processing module may be on the SIM. The location information may be physical location information or contextual location-related information. The trusted processing module is configured to cryptographically secure and bind the location information to the WTRU, and verify trust metrics of an external entity prior to granting an access to the location information or accepting information from the external entity. The trusted processing module may be a trusted computing group (TCG) trusted platform module (TPM) or mobile trusted module (MTM). The location information may be used for an authentication purpose or access control. The location information may be combined with time information.
