Abstract: PURPOSE:To fill gas in cylinder uniformly while to increase the exhausting speed by arranging intake and exhaust valves coaxially with the cylinder thereby increasing the valve area. CONSTITUTION:An intake or exhaust valve 2 is arranged in the center of the cylinder head 3 coaxially with the cylinder 4 while an exhaust or intake valve 1 is arranged coaxially. Consequently, the valve area can be increased to improve the intake/exhaust efficiency. Since gas is filled through an intake port coaxial with the cylinder 4, it is filled uniformly. Furthermore, the combustion chamber can be made flat and the compression ratio can be increased.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To thermally deform a valve seat part in an axis of symmetry and prevent a blow-by in the seat part, by providing a unified valve used in common for intake and exhaust in the center of a cylinder cover while a control valve respectively in intake and exhaust passages communicating with the unified valve. CONSTITUTION:A port used in common for intake and exhaust is formed in the center of a cylinder cover, being opened and closed by a unified valve 2. This port communicates with an exhaust passage 8, exhaust pipe 6, intake passage 9 and an intake pipe 7. The exhaust passage 8 and the intake passage 9 respectively provide an exhaust control valve 4 and an intake control valve 5. The intake control valve 5 and the unified valve 2 are opened by closing the exhaust control valve 4 in an intake stroke, while the exhaust control valve 4 and the unified valve 2 are opened by closing the intake control valve 5 in an exhaust stroke. The unified valve 2, thermally deforming its seat part in an axis of symmetry, prevents a blow-by in the seat part.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain valve timing of an engine smoothing the action of its valve and enabling its high speed running, by utilizing a cavity in a piston so as to increase a lift of the valve when the piston is positioned in its top dead center. CONSTITUTION:An engine, not having a throttle valve, performs intake and exhaust operation by a single valve 1. In an exhaust stroke, exhaust gas is allowed to flow out from a reed valve 4 via a guide plate. An intake port 2, branching and providing a reed valve 4', never causes an inflow of the exhaust gas. A piston 7 never collides against the valve 1 by providing a cavity 8 in the piston 7 even if a valve lift (h) is in its maximum when the piston is placed in its top dead center at the intake and exhaust operation of the engine. Accordingly, the valve never generates its dancing action at high speed running by forming a cam in a smooth shape.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To quickly reduce the pressure in a cylinder in an exhaust manner and diminish a pumping loss at a following stroke, by opening an intake valve in the initial stage of exhaust period to use the intake valve as an exhaust passage in combination with a change-over valve. CONSTITUTION:At a point A, the end of explosion stroke, an exhaust valve 2 is opened, a change-over valve 7 installed at the branched halfway section of an intake pipe 3 is switched over to a communication passage 8 and an intake valve 1 is opened. As a result, exhaust gas in a cylinder flows into an exhaust pipe 4 through the exhaust valve 2 and an exhaust passage 10 and flows into the exhaust pipe 4 through the intake valve 1 and the communication passage 8. According to this constitution, the exhaust passage is enlarged much more than conventional ones and the pressure in the cylinder is quickly reduced. When the change-over valve 7 is switched over to a passage 9 on the side of the intake pipe at a point C, the beginning of suction period, the communication passage 8 is shut off and a mixture flows into the cylinder through the intake pipe 3, the passage 9, the change-over valve 7 and the intake valve 1 as usual. After that, a compression stroke is started.

Abstract: The invention relates to a distribution system for the intake and exhaust in an internal combustion engine. According to the invention, a cylinder is connected to an exhaust manifold by means of a connecting valve 10. An intake mainfold 10 opens into the manifold 14 by means of an intake valve 14 making it possible to regulate the flow of air and re-cycling of the burnt gases. The advantages attained by the invention include: achieving optimum characteristics of the flow of air and re-cycling of the burnt gases, obtaining optimum characteristics of the flow, reduction in temperature of the exhaust valve and assisting in starting and partial running.
