    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device, such as a base station and/or a user equipment (UE), may select a first resolution for a first analog-to-digital or digital-to-analog conversion process associated with a first wireless communication. The wireless device may determine that the first wireless communication is performed according to the first resolution. The wireless device may select, based at least in part on the determining, a second resolution for a second analog-to-digital or digital-to-analog conversion process associated with a second wireless communication, the first resolution being a lower resolution than the second resolution.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a transport block that includes one or more code blocks carrying a random access channel (RACH) communication directed to the UE. The transport block may be segmented into the one or more code blocks based at least in part on a segmentation procedure specific to a RACH procedure. The user equipment may decode the one or more code blocks based at least in part on a code block cyclic redundancy check (CRC) associated with the one or more code blocks.     Abstract: When time locations of synchronization signal (SS) blocks (SSBs) are fixed within an SS burst set, the time locations and the slot pattern may be incompatible. In this case, the base station may not be permitted to transmit that SSBs that overlap in time with a configured uplink symbols because the base station is configured to receive uplink communications during this time, rather than transmit downlink communications during this time. As a result, the base station may have fewer opportunities to transmit SSBs, which may lead to increased latency due to delays in accessing the base station, may reduce spectral efficiency due to fewer opportunities to indicate beamforming parameters and/or fewer beams being used for communications, and/or the like. Some techniques and apparatuses described herein permit the base station to flexibly configure time locations of SSBs within an SS burst set, thereby reducing latency, improving spectral efficiency, and/or the like.

    Abstract: An access node may monitor for uplink and downlink resource release indications signaled by a parent access node and a child access node prior to scheduling a released resource. In some cases (e.g., when the child node is capable of half-duplex communications), the parent access node may determine to release a resource, and the child access node may determine to release a hard resource (e.g., a child node controlled resource). Receiving uplink and downlink resource release indications may enable the access node to schedule communication with the child node via a soft resource (e.g., a parent node controlled resource). Other aspects of the described techniques are directed to feedback support for a slot format indicator (SFI). The feedback from the access node may accept or reject the SFI based on an impact the SFI has on scheduling via a child link established with a child node of the access node.

    Abstract: In some aspects, a node may configure whether a set of soft time resources is to be conditionally released or unconditionally released. The set of soft time resources may be configurable in a schedulable state or a non-schedulable state. The set of soft time resources may be schedulable subject to at most a directionality constraint when unconditionally released and, when conditionally released, being schedulable subject to: the directionality constraint and one or more conditions other than the directionality constraint if the set of soft resources is configured subject to the directionality constraint, or at least one of the directionality constraint or the one or more conditions other than the directionality constraint if the set of soft resources is not configured subject to the directionality constraint. The node may transmit a configuration that indicates whether the set of soft time resources is conditionally released or unconditionally released in the schedulable state.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first node of an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) network may identify a second, neighboring non-parent node of the IAB network. The second node may be associated with a timing source which may provide more accurate timing information than the parent node of the first node. The first node may transmit a first random access message to the second node to initiate a random access procedure. The second node may transmit a second random access message to the first node, the second random access message including timing information based on the timing source. The first and second nodes may terminate the random access procedure based at least in part on receiving the second random access message.

Certain aspects provide a method for wireless communication by a first wireless device. A relay device may detect an upstream radio link failure (RLF) associated with an upstream link of a wireless backhaul, where the wireless backhaul includes a first wireless link between the relay device and a first upstream backhaul device. The relay device may provide a first indication of the upstream radio link failure over a second wireless link between the relay device and a first downstream device. The relay device may establish a third wireless link with a second upstream backhaul device based on the detected upstream radio link failure. The relay device may provide multiple-access services to one or more downstream devices, where providing the multiple-access services is based on backhaul communications between the relay device and the second upstream backhaul device over the third wireless link.

    Abstract: A relay node supporting mobile terminal (MT) functionality and distributed unit (DU) functionality may receive a timing advance (TA) value for uplink synchronization associated with a timing alignment timer from a parent node. In some cases, the timing alignment timer may expire prior to the relay node receiving a next TA value. Upon expiration of the timing alignment timer, the relay node may initiate a second timer associated with the transitioning of a DU entity of the relay node to a DU transition state. The DU transition state is associated with certain DU behavior for serving child nodes while the transition timer is active. Configuration of the DU transition state may be identified by the relay node, or received from a parent node. In cases where the transition timer expires prior to receiving a next TA value, the DU may declare a loss of uplink synchronization.
