    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a flame-retardant resin composition capable of imparting high flame retardance to a thermoplastic resin by using a non-halogen-based flame retardant and having good moldability and mechanical properties and obtain a molding by molding the resin composition. SOLUTION: This resin composition is obtained by blending 100 pts.wt. thermoplastic resin with 0.1-100 pts.wt. red phosphorus and 0.5-100 pts.wt. salt of triazine-based compound with cyanuric acid or isocyanuric acid. Number- average dispersed particle diameter of red phosphorus in the resin composition is 50-0.01μm and number-average dispersed particle diameter of the salt of the triazine-based compound with a cyanuric acid or isocyanuric acid is 100-0.01μm.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain the composition useful as electric/electronic parts, having excellent mechanical strength and moldability by adding a specific epoxy- modified vinyl-based copolymer in a specific ratio to a thermoplastic resin composition. CONSTITUTION: This composition is obtained by blending 100 pts.wt. of a resin composition composed of (i) 1-99wt.% of a liquid crystal resin and (ii) 99-1wt% of one or more thermoplastic resins of a styrenic resin, a polycarbonate resin and a polyphenylene ether-based resin with (B) (iii) 0.01-30 pts.wt. of an epoxy- modified vinyl-based copolymer (e.g., glycidyl methacrylate/styrenic copolymer) copolymerized with 0.01-15wt.% of a glycidyl group-containing vinyl monomer and (D) 0-200 pts.wt. of a filler (e.g., glass fibers).     Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a resin composition, excellent in retention stability, having good mechanical properties and appearance of moldings, excellent in heat resistance and useful for mechanical parts, etc., by adding a specific nonfibrous metallic salt to a liquid crystal polyester (amide) after completing the polymerization. CONSTITUTION: This compound is obtained by adding (B) 0.001-5 pts.wt. nonfibrous metallic salt which is a metallic salt of at least one or more acids selected from sulfuric acid, hydrogen halides, hitric, boric, phosphoric, pyrophosphoric, formic, 1-10C alkylcarboxylic acids, oxalic, 1-10C alkylenedicarboxylic, benzoic, benzenesulfonic and 1-20C alkylbenzenesulfonic acids to (A) 100 pts.wt. liquid crystal polyester and/or liquid crystal polyester amide (containing ethylenedioxy unit as an essential component and having a structural unit of formulas I to IV) after completing the polymerization.     Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a resin composition excellent in color tone residence stability, and heat resistance and satisfactory in mechanical properties and molding appearance by incorporating a specific phosphoric acid compound into a liquid- crystal polyester or liquid-crystal polyester-amide. CONSTITUTION:The composition comprises 100 pts.wt. liquid-crystal polyester and/or liquid-crystal polyester-amide and 0.001-5 pts.wt. at least one compound selected from among phosphorous acid, hydrophosphorous acid, and metal salts of these. For further improving residence stability, another metal salt (e.g., potassium sulfate, potassium acetate, or barium acetate) may be incorporated in an amount of about 0.001-5 pts.wt. For imparting flame retardancy to the composition, an organobromine compound can be incorporated in an amount of about 0.5-30 pts.wt.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid crystal polyester useful for machine parts, etc., having a structural unit expressed by a specific formula, excellent in a weld strength, suppressing acetic acid generated on heating or melting and capable of giving molded products having nice color tones. CONSTITUTION:This objective polyester comprises unit I;-X-Y-SO3M and/or unit II;-X-Y-COOM (X is O or CO; Y is a bivalent organic group having no carboxylic group as a substituent; M is an alkali metal) and has 0.5-5dl/g logarithmic viscosity measured in pentafluorophenol at expressed by formula I and formula II. The polyester contains 0.01-2mol% of the unit I and II based on the sum total of carboxylic groups (residues) in the polyester when X is 0 and 0.001-2mol% based on the total sum of hydroxyl groups (residues) in the polyester when X is CO. Further, the polyester preferably contains a unit structure of formula III, etc.
