    Abstract: PURPOSE:The feeder for yarn-finishing oil and the yarn-collecting guide are cooled to a specific temperature to prevent a yarn of thermoplastic high polymer from melt breakage caused by friction and permit the stable winding-up at a high speed. CONSTITUTION:When a thermoplastic high polymer such as polyethylene terephthalate is melt spun into a multifilament yarn at a speed higher than 5,000, preferably 6.000m/min, the yarn-finishing oil feeder 3 and the yarn-collecting guide 4 are cooled to a temperature lower than 15 deg.C at the surface contacting with the yarn with the cooler 8 and by passing water through the inside of the yarn-passing part 12.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the light screening property, and to reduce the abrasion of a guide, need, etc. in twisting, weaving and knitting steps, by forming the core layer with a high TiO2 content and the sheath layer with a lower content into a concentric sheath and core composite fiber. CONSTITUTION:A sheath-core type composite fiber consisting of a melt spinnable fiber-forming synthetic high polymer, wherein the sheath and the core layers are arranged concentrically, and the TiO2 content in the core layer is 1wt% or more, preferably 2-7wt%, with the TiO2 content in the sheath layer of less than 1%. The difference in TiO2 contents between the layers in 0.5wt% or more, preferably 2-7wt%. The fineness per fiber is 1-3de, and the smallest thickness of the sheath layer is 0.2-1mu.
