    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the titled compsn. which gives black spun-dyed yarn and black solution-dyed film having excellent surface properties, light screening properties and easy slipperiness, by incorporating fine titanium nitride powder in a polyester composed of a bifunctional acid component mainly composed of an arom. dicarboxylic acid and a glycol component. CONSTITUTION:0.01-20wt% fine titanium nitride powder having the max. particle size of 10mu or below, obtd. by heating metallic titanium or titanium oxide in N2 gas, is dispersed in a raw material consisting of an arom. dicarboxylic acid component such as terephthalic acid contg. not more than 20mol% of a comonomer such as isophthalic acid and a glycol component mainly composed of ethylene glycol and optionally a comonomer such as butylene glycol. A polymn. reaction is then carried out.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide titled composition capable of making film of high transparency, smoothness and lubricity, incorporated with each specified amount of both internal and inert partials of respective specific size and specific higher fatty acid compound. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be obtained by incorporating (A) 100pts.wt. of polyester consisting mainly of polyethylene terephthalate with (B) 0.005-2 (pref. 0.01-5)pts.wt. of fine particles with a size pref. 0.1-2mu (internal particles derived from adding Ca-, Mg-, and/or Li-compound plus, pref. P-compound, in the form of glycol solution, to the polycondensation system; and inert particles added, in the form of water and/or ethylene glycol-dispersed slurry, to the system during or prior to the polymerization) and (C) 0.005-2 (pref. 0.05-0.5)pts.wt. of 10-33C (pref. 20-32C) higher aliphatic monocarboxylic acid (ester) compound (e.g. carnauba wax).

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce the titled polyester having excellent particle dispersibility, polymn. reactivity and heat resistance, by a method wherein an ethylene glycol slurry contg. a specified silicon oxide and a phosphorus compd. is added to a polyester produced during the production of the polyester. CONSTITUTION:Silicon oxide having an average particle diameter of 10mu or below and a purity of 90% or higher and 0.1-2mol% (per mole of the silicon oxide) phosphorus compd. (e.g. phosphoric acid or phosphonic acid) are added to ethylene glycol. The mixt. is stirred at high speed and at a temp. of not higher than 100 deg.C to prepare a slurry. Terephathalic acid (or an ester derivative) and a glycol are subjected to an ester exchange reaction in the presence of an polymn. catalyst. Then the above slurry is added to the produced polyester in such a proportion as to give 1-20wt% silicon oxide. The mixt. is subjected to a polycondensation reaction to obtain desired polyester for a rough-surfaced film. EFFECT:A rough-surfaced polyester film having excellent color tone and gloss is obtd.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce a polyester containing inert particles well dispersed therein in high concentration, by adding an ethylene glycol slurry of inert particles in a specified manner to the reaction system during the ester exchange reaction between a terephthalate ester and ethylene glycol. CONSTITUTION:The reaction between a lower alkyl ester of terephthalic acid and 0.5-1.5mol times the acid component, of ethylene glycol (EG) is started in the presence of a known ester exchange catalyst, and the reaction is continued while an EG slurry containing 5-40wt% of inert particles, average particle diameter about 0.01-20mu, such as silica is added to the reaction mixture in such a rate that during a period from the start of the reaction to the time when the precent ester exchange reaches about 97%, an 80% portion of the total inert particles is fed over a period of at least about 15min. After the completion of the ester exchange, polycondensation reaction is carried out in the presence of a polycondensation catalyst such as antimony trioxide to obtain a polyester.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a composition having good IEC tracking and excellent mechanical properties, by adding to a polyalkylene terephthalate a hollow microspherical substance selected from alumina, silica, zirconia and magnesia. CONSTITUTION:A polyester composition is prepared by adding to (A) 100pts.wt. of a polyalkylene terephthalate, (B) 3-200pts.wt. of at least one hollow microspherical substance having an average particle diameter of below 2mm, selected from the group consisting of alumina, silica, zirconia and magnesia. As the component (A), polybutylene terephthalate having a high rate of crystallization is preferably used. Preferably, the component (A) has a relative viscosity ranging 1.3-1.8, when measured at 25 deg.C, as a 0.5% solution in o-chlorophenol.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To impart improved antistatic properties and moldability to the title article, by molding a mixture of a polybutylene terephthalate having a specific relative viscosity, a (modified)polyalkylene glycol, a metal salt of an aromatic sulfonic acid, and an inorganic solid. CONSTITUTION:A polybutylene terephthalate having a relative viscosity of 1.3- 1.75 is incorporated with 0.05-10% of a (modified)polyalkylene glycol, e.g. polyethylene glycol, 0.01-3%, preferably 0.03-2%, of a metal salt of an aromatic sulfonic acid, e.g. soldium alkylbenzene sulfonate, of the formula Ar-SO31/m Me [Ar is (un)substituted aromatic residue; m is an integer 1-3; Me is metal atom], and 0.01-5%, preferably 0.1-2%, of an inorganic solid, e.g. talc or clay. The mixture is then molded to give an article particularly usable as a precise molded article.
