    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a polyester excellent in slidability, surface smoothness and abrasion resistance, by reacting a bifunctional acid component based on an aromatic dicarboxylic acid (functional derivative) with a glycol component in the presence of specified CaCO3 particles. CONSTITUTION:CaCO3 and 0.002-5wt% (in terms of P2O5) P are dispersed in a glycol such as ethylene glycol by means of, e.g., a high-speed disperser or a colloid mill and filtered to obtain CaCO3 particles having a geometric- means diameter (dg) of 0.02-2.0mum and a geometric standard deviation (deltag) of 2.0-3.5. A bifunctional acid component based on an aromatic dicarboxylic acid or its functional derivative [e.g., terephthalic acid (alkyl ester)] is reacted with a glycol component based on ethylene glycol in the presence of a catalyst and 0.001-5wt%, based on the formed polyester, said CaCO3 particles.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the titled compsn. which gives black spun-dyed yarn and black solution-dyed film having excellent surface uniformity, light screening properties and easy slipperiness, by incorporating fine TiO powder in a polyester composed of a bifunctional acid component mainly composed of an arom. dicarboxylic acid and a glycol component. CONSTITUTION:0.01-20wt% fine titanium monoxide powder having the max. particles size of 10mu or below, obtd. by reducing titanium monoxide (TiO) with C or metal such as Zn, is dispersed in a raw material consisting of an arom. dicarboxylic acid component such as terephthalic acid contg. not more than 20mol% of comonomer components such as isophthalic acid and a glycol component mainly composed of ethylene glycol and optionally a comonomer such as butylene glycol. A polymn. reaction is then carried out.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a particle slurry finely dispersible in a polyester without forming coarse agglomerated particles, by dispersing inorganic compound particles in glycol using a phosphorus compound, and ammonia or a lower amine compound as dispersing agents. CONSTITUTION:In preparing a particle slurry by dispersing inorganic compound particles with an average primary particle diameter of 10mu or less in glycol, a phosphorus compound, and ammonia or a lower amine compound is used as dispersing agents. Inorganic compound particles to be used are preferably an oxide or a carbonate, especially calcium carbonate. When inorganic compound particles with an average primary particle diameter of above 10mu are applied to a polyester, they may cause yarn breakage or, may cause coarse protuberance in a film, which are undesirable.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:A small amount of fine particle of polyphenyl ester resin melting at higher temperatures is added to polyalkylene terephthalate, thus improving the slipping properties of films without any adverse effect on transparency. CONSTITUTION:To a polyester containing terephthalic acid as major acid component such as polyethylene terephthalate is added 0.01 - 5, preferably 0.03 - 2 wt.% of fine particles of polyphenyl ester resin that melts over 265 deg.C, that is, over the molding temperature of the polyester, and has particle sizes of 50 or less, preferably 20 or less microns.
