Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture stably quality films having no surface defects such as stripes by keeping the metal piece from being adhered with catalyst or additives existing in polymer and degraded matters of polymer, and thereby enabling the manufacture of films to be continued for a long period of time. SOLUTION: The metal piece comprises a chromium plated skin film spread over at least a part of its surface, in which an expression of a silicon atom/ chromium atom contains silicon atoms relative to chromium atoms by 10 or more as a strength ratio of SIMS. Also, it includes a chromium plated skin film containing chromium atoms relative to oxygen atoms to be an inequality of carbon atoms > oxygen atom as a strength of SIMS at least in a part of the surface.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the transparency, surface smoothness, abrasion resistance, etc., of a polyester molding such as a film or fiber by incorporating fine particles of a functional organic polymer which have low strength in deformation into a thermoplastic polyester. CONSTITUTION:Fine particles of an organic polymer having a functional group which have a 10%-deformation strength S10 satisfying the relationship of the formula are incorporated into a polyester [e.g. poly(ethylene terephthalate)] to produce the polyester composition. Examples of the particles include butyl acrylate/divinylbenzene copolymer particles and octyl acrylate/divinylbenzene copolymer particles. Due to the low strength, softness, and functional group, the particles incorporated have an improved affinity for the polyester and hence are less apt to fall off.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a thermoplastic polyester composition capable of producing a film or a fiber excellent in all the properties of slip stabilities, chipping resistance and scratch resistance. CONSTITUTION:(A) Silica particles of a straight- or branched-chain shape, having >=2 ratio (D1/D2) of the particle size (D1mmu) measured by the dynamic light- scattering method to the particle size (D2mmu) measured by the nitrogen gas adsorption method while satisfying (D1)=60-600mmu and the thickness =41-100mmu and (B) organic polymer fine particles (e.g. butyl acrylate-divinyl benzene copolymer) containing a soft segment and a rigid segment and having 0.001-6mum average particle size are blended with a polyester composition respectively in a ratio of 0.001-20wt.%, especially 0.01-5wt.%. From the resultant composition, a film in which the above-mentioned ratio of particle sizes of the organic polymer fine particles is 1.1-5 is formed.
