The invention relates to a drive device (20) for entrance and exit devices for public transportation vehicles, comprising a drive unit (22) that is arranged in and drives a rotary column (24) rotating about a rotational axis Z-Z during opening and closing operations, said column opening and closing the entrance and exit device. The drive unit (22) is held on the vehicle via a retaining component (40). The retaining component (40) acts as counter bearing for a torque of the drive unit (22). Between the drive unit (22) and the retaining component (40), a coupling device (72) is arranged, which enables a rotation of the drive unit (22) about the rotational axis Z-Z when a threshold value of the torque acting upon the drive unit is exceeded. Between the coupling device (72) and the retaining component (40), a bearing is provided, which enables a tumbling motion of the rotary column (24) with the coupling device (72) and prevents a rotation about the rotational axis Z-Z.

A power actuator system for a movable vehicle panel such as a lift gate assembly (12) includes a position sensor that detects the pivotal movement of a strut mechanism (14) of the power lift gate assembly relative to the host vehicle. A rotary sensor (30) is coupled directly to an end component of the strut mechanism (14) and provides signals that indicate the total amount of pivotal or rotary movement of the strut mechanism (14) and the lift gate (12) during the opening and closing of the lift gate. The signals provide information to determine the absolute position of the strut and the lift gate for processing in the vehicle's electronic control unit.

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine Antriebseinrichtung für eine Klappe eines Fahrzeugs, mit einem mit einem feststehenden Bauteil oder einem bewegbaren Bauteil verbindbaren ersten Befestigungselement und mit einem an dem ersten Befestigungselement entgegengesetzten Ende axial relativ dazu bewegbaren Gehäuserohr (1). Das Gehäuserohr (1) weist an seinem dem ersten Befestigungselement entgegengesetzten Ende ein mit dem bewegbaren Bauteil oder dem feststehenden Bauteil befestigbares zweites Befestigungselement auf. Ein Spindeltrieb weist eine Gewindespindel (8) und eine darauf angeordnete Spindelmutter (9) auf, wobei durch den Spindeltrieb das erste Befestigungselement und das Gehäuserohr (1) axial relativ zueinander bewegbar antreibbar sind. Dabei ist der Spindeltrieb von einem Drehantrieb drehbar antreibbar. Die Gewindespindel (8) ist mit ihrem einen Ende an dem Gehäuserohr (1) drehbar gelagert und gegenüber dem Gehäuserohr (1) axial feststehend angeordnet sowie von dem Drehantrieb drehbar antreibbar.
