    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a polyester composition giving a film having remarkably improved abrasion resistance and causing little damage to magnetic surface in high-speed transportation of the film. CONSTITUTION:The polyester is composed of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and a glycol as main constituent components, preferably composed of an alkylene terephthalate or an alkylene naphthalate as a main constituent component and contains 0.005-10wt.% (preferably 0.01-5wt.%) of polymer particles having an average particle diameter 0.01-5mum (preferably 0.03-1mum) and composed of a polyester resin composed of a polyhydric alcohol and a polybasic acid, wherein at least one of the alcohol and acid is a >=3-valent compound. The polyhydric alcohol is preferably ethylene glycol, glycerol, trimethylolethane or pentaerythritol and the polybasic acid is preferably terephthalic acid, phthalic acid, 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid, succinic acid, trimellitic acid or pyromellitic acid.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a polyester composition containing inert particles surface- treated with a specific phosphorus compound, and capable of producing films excellent in abrasion resistance and scratch resistance and suitably used for magnetic recording media, etc. CONSTITUTION:The polyester composition is produced by adding or kneading (B) 0.01-10wt.% of inert particles (preferably zirconium oxide or aluminum oxide) treated with 0.01-20wt.% of a phosphorus compound (preferably carboxyethylmethylphosphinic acid) of the formula (R1 is hydrocarbon group; l, m, n are integer, but 2l+m=4, and n is >=1; q is natural number) (preferably carboxyethylmethylphosphinic acid) and having an average particle diameter of 0.005-2mum to the polymerization reaction system of (A) a thermoplastic polyester, preferably polyethylene terephthalate or polyethylene-2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylate, or with the melted product of the component A. And the film comprises the composition.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain at good productivity the polyethylene naphthalate composition which can give moldings reduced in the formation of streaky defects on a film surface or reduced in the formation of yarn breaks and having good durability by continuously polycondensing bis(hydroxyethyl) naphthalate. CONSTITUTION:Bis(hydroxyethyl) naphthalate is continuously polycondensed to obtain the polyethylene naphthalate composition which is a polyester mainly consisting of repeating ethylene naphthalate units, has a terminal carboxyl contentretion of 40 eq./10 g or below and diethylene glycol content of 1.3wt.% or below. When the terminal carboxyl concentration is above 40eq./10 g, the effect of reducing the formation of streaky defects during film formation and the formation of yarn breaks during spinning is not sufficient. When the ethylene glycol content is above 1.3wt.%, the effect of reducing the formation of streaky defects during film formation and the formation of yarn breaks during spinning is not sufficient.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain excellent scratch resistance and electromagnetic conversion properties by forming strong projections on the surface of a laminated film layer by adding particles treated with alumine oxide to at least one surface layer. CONSTITUTION:In a biaxially oriented laminated film having at least two laminated structures, particles treated with an aluminic acid compd., for example, magnesium aluminate or calcium aluminate are added to at least one surface of the film. As the particles, silica particles or titanium oxide particles are designated but silica particles are especially pref. Particles whose particle size is too large with respect to the thickness of the film are not pref. and the ratio of the thickness of the particle-containing layer and the average particle size of the particles is pref. 1-100. The content of the particles treated with the aluminic acid compd. is pref. 0.1-5% by wt. of the particle-containing film.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a polyester composition which can give an ultrathin film or an ultrafine fiber in good productivity by a process for obtaining a polyester by the esterification and polycondensation of an acid component based on an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and a glycol component, wherein particles inert to the polyester are added under specified conditions.     Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance the permselectivity to an org. liq. from its aq. soln. by heat-treating a porous membrane contg. a polyvinylidene fluoride-based polymer at >=35 deg.C to form the aq. volatile org. liq. soln.-concentrating membrane. CONSTITUTION:A soln. consisting of a polyvinylidene fluoride-based polymer, its solvent and an org. solvent having higher volatility than the solvent is cast over the surface of a solid, etc., in fixed thickness. The solvents are vaporized for a fixed time, and then the solvent is substituted for a solidifying solvent to obtain a sheet-shaped porous membrane. The porous membrane of the polyvinylidene fluoride-based polymer is heat-treated at a temp. higher than 35 deg.C or appropriately higher than 50 deg.C and lower than the m.p. of the polymer to obtain an aq. volatile org. liq. soln-concentrating membrane. The polyvinylidene fluoride content of the membrane is appropriately controlled to at least 50wt.%.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an alcoholic drink having an alcoholic concentration higher than the starting stock solution by feeding an alcoholic drink on the primary side of a hydrophobic membrane, keeping pressure of secondary side to be lower than that of primary side and permeate the alcohol vapor through the above-mentionen membrane into the secondary side. CONSTITUTION:An alcoholic drink as a starting stock solution is controlled to prescribed temperature by a heat exchanger 3 and fed to the primary side of a module 4 equipped with a hydrophobic separation membrane capable of preferentially permeating a voltatile organic liquid. Then the secondary side of the module is kept at pressure lower than that of the primary side by a vacuum pump 19 and a pressure-reducing degree controlling device 8 and the concent vapor of an alcohlic ingredient is permeated to the secondary side of the above-mentioned module 4. Thereafter, the vapor is condensed by condensers 6 and taken out to provide the objective drink. Furthermore, an inert gas is preferably allowed to flow to the above-mentioned secondary side.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To manufacture a film to concentrate and separate selectively organic liquid from volatile organic liquid aqueous solution by adding solution of a polymer having fluorine containing alkyl to solution of an acrylonitrile group polymer. CONSTITUTION:Solution of a polymer having fluoroalkyl and whose structure unit is represented by the formula I (representing R1 to R3 =H, alkyl having 1 to 20 carbons, fluoroalkyl, R4= fluoroalkyl having 1 to 20 carbons, X = ester bonding, amide bonding and the like) is added to an acrylonitrile group polymer such as polyacrylonitrile. Then, said mixed solution is manufactured in the form of a porous film of acrylonitrile group polymer. Said film concentrates and separates the organic liquid from the volatile organic liquid aqueous solution with good selectivity.
