    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily obtain the subject new compound having unsaturated double bond group and polar group in the molecule, and useful as a raw material for optical thin film excellent in such low reflectivity and scratch resistance as to be used in reflectionproof articles. SOLUTION: This compound is shown by the formula (CH2 =CR1 COOR2 OCO)2 Rf (R1 is H or methyl; R2 is a 1-10C alkyl bearing one hydroxyl group; Rf is a fluoroalkyl) [e.g. CH2 =CHCOOCH2 CH(OH)CH2 OCO(CF2 )8 COOCH2 CH(OH) CH2 OCOCH=CH2 ]. The compound of the formula is obtained by reaction between a fluorine-contg. dicarboxylic acid and an epoxy group-bearing (meth) acrylate in the equivalent ratio of the latter to former of (0.3-2.0) [pref. (0.5-1.5)] pref. using a catalyst such as pyridine and a polymerization inhibitor such as metoquinone pref. at 40-150 deg.C (more pref. 50-130 deg.C) for 2-80 h.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce optical articles while the release from a mold is improved, and improved yields of moldings and cost down can be realized by cast- polymerizing a starting polymerization solution based on a monomer having at least two unsaturations in such a manner that a mold release is previously added to the polymerization solution. SOLUTION: Optical articles are produced by cast-polymerizing a starting polymerization solution based on a monomer having at least two unsaturations in such a manner that a mold release is previously added to the polymerization solution. The unsaturations are desirably radical-polymerizable ones. The monomer having at least two unsaturations desirably contains at least either a thio(meth)acrylate compound or a urethane (meth)acrylate compound. The mold releases are particularly desirably acid phosphoric esters and acid phosphorous esters. The mold release is desirably used in an amount of 50-10,000ppm based on the polymerization solution.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an ophthalmic lens which is decreased in chromatic aberrations and satisfies fashionability and wearing feel due to its small thickness and light weightness by combining >=2 kinds of lenses varying in Abbe number and ruggedness. CONSTITUTION:Two kinds of the lenses L1, L2 varying in the Abbe number and concavity/convexity are combined. The lens L2 is used to provide diopter and a blank material having a higher refractive index is more preferably in terms of the small thickness and light weightness as its blank material. A blank material having a large Abbe number is used. The lens L1 has a role of correcting the chromatic aberrations and a blank material preferably having a small Abbe number is used. The smaller refractive index is more preferably in order not to impair the diopter possessed by the lens L2. A difference in the Abbe number between the lenses L1 and L2 is preferably >=5. The blank materials to be used for the lenses L1, L2 are preferably resins having a crosslinked structure.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an adhesive capable of lowering a reflection loss at an adhesion interface, excellent in transparency and suitable, e.g. for adhesion of an optical material having high refractive index, an electronic material, etc., by compounding a specific compound with a compound containing epoxy groups. CONSTITUTION:This adhesive is obtained by compounding (A) preferably >=50wt.% of a compound having 15-50wt.% of sulfur atom in it, e.g. a compound of formula [R1 is H or methyl; (k) is 1-3] with (B) preferably 0.1-20wt.% of a compound having epoxy groups in it, e.g. bisphenol A-type epoxy resin. The adhesive preferably has a refractive index in the range of 1.63-2.00 after curing.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an optical resin of high refractive index and low specific gravity, excellent in heat resistance and processability, without any offensive odor or toxicity by using a monomer prepared by reaction of a compound bearing both a polymerizable functional group and SH group with an NCO group-contg. compound. CONSTITUTION:The objective resin can be obtained by radical polymerization of a monomer composition consisting mainly of a monomer prepared by reaction of a compound of the formula (R is H or methyl; R is CH2CH2, CH2CH2CH2, etc.; X is O or S; (n) is 1-3) with an NCO-contg. compound (pref. a compound having two NCO groups such as hexamethylene diisocyanate). It is recommended that the radical polymerization be carried out as follows: (1) the monomer composition containing >=5wt% of the monomer is cast, together with a polymerization initiator, into a mold made of e.g. glass and a gasket made of e.g. PVC follower by heating at 30-150 deg.C for 0.1-40hr or (2) the monomer composition is irradiated with energy beams.

CONSTITUTION:The optical resin material consists of a resin containing >=10wt.% sulfur and 3-20wt.% alpha-methylstyrene. As the optical resin, a three- dimensionally cross-linked casting polymerization type methyl (meth)acrylate, etc., is preferably used.
