Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cell search system for a mobile station that can reduce a base station searching time by discriminating the presence of synchronization through a confirmation mode after searching a secondary synchronization code without setting a critical value by the system at searching of a base station by the mobile station. SOLUTION: The cell search system for a mobile station in a time division duplex system includes; a primary synchronization code search module for searching primary synchronization codes while searching frames to determine a position of the maximum value; a correlation module for estimating a phase value required to demodulate a sub synchronization code and acquiring a received signal and a first correlation value for a code configuring a secondary synchronization code; a secondary synchronization code search module for generating determinative variables and storing them based on the position of the maximum value; a comparison and decision module for detecting a maximum value of the determinative variables, comparing it with the values stored in the secondary synchronization code search module to count matching values, and comparing the count value with a system value to decide whether slot synchronization and group acquisition is successful; and a base station determination module for determining a second correlation value between midamble codes and the received signals, and selecting a maximum value of it to determine a base station. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To express a large number of attribute values with bits constituting vector descriptors for multi-medial data and rearrange them, and then, to hierarchically express and store the vector descriptors corresponding to the number of the attribute values and to retrieve the multi-media data using the stored representation data. SOLUTION: In the multi-media data retrieval system and method large number of the attribute values described by vector descriptor are quantized and the quantized attribute values are expressed in a bit format, the attribute values expressed in the bit format are rearranged in the order from the highest position bit to the lowest position bit, and the vector descriptors are hierarchically expressed. The number of the rearranged attribute values and the attribute values being entered are encoded as variable length codes, and stored only the variable length attribute value among the stored attributes corresponding to the number of the attribute values are reversely encoded in variable length to be rearranged reversely and the original attribute values are restored. The restored attribute values are reversely quantized and the reversed quantized attribute values are compared with the attribute value already stored in a multi-media database, and the multi-media data are searched.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hard hand-off method between an asynchronous code division multiple access system and a synchronous code division multiple access system. SOLUTION: The method includes a 1st step, where a mobile terminal making a speech with an asynchronous CDMA base station reports the result of measurement to the asynchronous CDMA base station on the basis of the result of measurement of a signal strength of a pilot channel received from a synchronous CDMA base station adjacent to the asynchronous CDMA base station, a 2nd step where the asynchronous CDMA base station transmits a hand-off request message to the synchronous CDMA base station according to the reported measurement result, a 3rd step where the synchronous CDMA base station receiving the hand-off request message transmits information required to the execution of the hand-off to the asynchronous CDMA base station, and a 4th step where the mobile terminal receiving information from the asynchronous CDMA base station through a traffic channel, that is set at present utilizes the information to execute the hard hand-off to the synchronous CDMA base station.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a comparison purchase at an on-line store on the web by automatically extracting a product information record through a heuristic interpreter so that product information tends to be positioned in a hypertext mark-up language(HTML) document. SOLUTION: Unnecessary HTML documents among gathered HTML documents are filtered off primarily by an HTML filter 13 and a price information rearranging unit 14 performs conversion to a form suitable for use on a product information extraction subsystem. A formation information rearranging unit 15 decides the type of an input document and calls an analytic module for a type which is already analyzed to extract product information. A document having price information which failed to be analyzed is passed to the heurisitic interpreter 16, which extracts product information. Although there is price information based upon product information and price information from a noun dictionary table 17, a document which does not have its product information extracted by the formation information rearranging device 15 is sequentially heuristically processed to extract the product information.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of exactly dividing a video object with a little effort in a comparatively short time by dividing the video object through a method for tracking the contour line of the video object concerning the video object to appear later while utilizing the division information of the video object to appear on a video sequence. SOLUTION: This dividing method is provided with steps 301-302 for extracting the contour line of the preceding video object from the division information of the preceding video object in the preceding scene inputted from the outside and storing this contour line later, step 303 for calculating the motion information of the contour line of the preceding video object in the present scene and extracting the contour line of the present video object while utilizing the above motion information and the spatial area information of the preceding and present scenes, and step 304 for extracting the area of the present video object in the present scene while utilizing the contour line information of the present video object.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to correct the deviation in alignment which occurs at the time of manufacturing a multichannel optical element module by providing the method with a step for assembling by utilizing laser welding and a step for forming at least one weld zone in the prescribed position of an optical fiber supporting base by utilizing the shrinkage effect of a welding section. SOLUTION: This method for correcting a laser corrects displacement by moving an optical fiber array 1 not only in horizontal (x), perpendicular (y) and axial (z) directions but in rotating (Rx, Ry, Rz) directions with respect to respective axes and utilizing the shrinkage effect of the welding section in order to correct the light alignment to all the directions. The optical fiber supporting base 20 includes erecting plates 21 which are erected on both sides apart a prescribed spacing in order to support an optical fiber ferrule in order to effectively apply such laser correction. These erecting plates 21 are formed to a thickness 21a as thin as about 300 to 400 micrometers and are easily shrunk by the irradiation with the laser beam, by which the regulation of the displacement is made possible.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat pipe of a wick structure for simplifying its manufacturing steps by increasing a capillary force with a simple structure. SOLUTION: In the heat pipe using a wick 110 for giving a capillary force to return a condensed operation fluid to an evaporator, the wick 110 is formed by spirally knitting many wires 115 via an inner wall of the pipe. The wick 110 is mounted in the pipe by forming the wick 110 braided in a spiral direction to constitute a cylindrical shape corresponding to the inner wall of the pipe so that an outer diameter of the wick 10 is smaller than an inner diameter of the pipe at this time and its length is longer than a length of the pipe. Then, the wick 110 is intruded into the pipe, and then compressed in its lengthwise direction.
