    Abstract: PURPOSE: A diluent for freezing boar sperm obtained by adding N-acetyl-D-glucosamine as water soluble chitin to boar sperm, freezing and then thawing is provided which improves viability and movability of boar sperm and can be applied to cow, chicken or other domestic animals. CONSTITUTION: This diluent comprises 11g lactose hydrate, 20ml egg yolk, 4% by weight of glycerol, 1.0% by weight of orvus es paste(OEP) and 0 to 0.05g N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, based on 100ml diluent. A sperm-rich fraction separated from livestock is subjected to cooling slowly at room temperature for 90 to 150 min and then centrifugal separation at 1,500rpm for 5 to 15 min. The pretreated sperm is added with 5.5ml first diluent composing 11g lactose hydrate, 20ml egg yolk, 0.01 to 1.0g N-acetyl-D-glucosamine and 100ml distilled water and then left alone at 4 to 6deg.C for 90 to 150 min. The first sperm liquid is diluted with 11ml second dilute comprising 11g lactose hydrate, 20ml egg yolk, 4% by weight of glycerol, 1.0% by weight of OEP, 0.01 to 1.5g N-acetyl-D-glucosamine and distilled water and then subjected to glycerol equilibrium.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for cross-linking a high density polyethylene by using the plasma reaction and a latent heat regenerating material prepared by using the method are provided, to obtain a high density polyethylene with a low surface charge which stores heat by the form of slurry. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of charging a high density polyethylene with flowing a carrier gas into a plasma reactor; fluidizing the high density polyethylene slurry by stirring it with a Teflon-coated magnetic bar to cross-link the high density polyethylene; and introducing fluorine from Teflon to modify the surface. Preferably the cross-linking process is carried out in the condition of an RF power of 30-300 W, a pressure of 0-350 mTorr, a treatment time of 30 sec to 120 min, and a rotation velocity of a magnetic bar of 50-1,000 rpm. The carrier gas is preferably argon. The plasma electron energy of a reactor is 0.1-10 and the electron density is 10¬9-10¬12 cm¬-3.
