Abstract: The present disclosure provides methods for controlling oxygen concentration during aerobic biosynthesis, e.g., fermentation. The method may comprise feeding an oxygen-containing gas into a vessel including a fermentation feedstock and reacting the fermentation feedstock with the oxygen-containing gas to form a broth including a gaseous phase dispersed within the broth. The gaseous phase may comprise any unreacted oxygen from the oxygen-containing gas. The method further includes reducing the concentration of the unreacted oxygen in the dispersed gaseous phase to less than the limiting oxygen concentration (“LOC”) for flammability before separating the gaseous phase from the fermentation broth. The concentration of the unreacted oxygen in the gaseous phase is reduced by employing oxygen removal schemes or oxygen dilution schemes.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is the preparation of woven fabrics suitable for use in manufacturing vehicle airbags. Such fabrics are woven from a plurality of polymeric, e.g., polyamide, warp and weft tapes which have preferably been slitted, preferably in the machine direction, from a thermoplastic polymer film, and preferably from such a film which has been drawn at least in the machine direction. The resulting fabrics exhibit both the relatively low basis weight, stiffness and small packing volume typical of nylon films, and the relatively high tear strength and high damage tolerance of yarn-based woven airbag fabrics.

Abstract: A polyurethaneurea composition comprises a reaction product of at least one diisocyanate compound, a polymeric glycol, a poly(tetramethylene-co-ethyleneether) glycol comprising constituent units derived by copolymerizing tetrahydrofuran and ethylene oxide (EO) wherein the portion of the constituent units derived from ethylene oxide is present in the poly(tetramethylene-co-ethyleneether) glycol from greater than about 37 to about 70 mole percent, at least one diamine chain extender, and at least one chain terminator. Abstract: Nonnaturally occurring host cells altered to increase their ability to transfer genetic molecules into the host cells as compared to an unaltered host cell are provided. Also provided are methods for identifying endogenous loci of a host cell which inhibit transformation efficiency and/or electroporation of genetic molecules into the cell as well as methods for producing nonnaturally occurring host cells with enhanced transformation efficiency and/or the modified ability to allow for genomic integration of an exogenous DNA sequence via electroporation. Methods for producing biochemicals and products produced with the nonnaturally occurring host cells are also provided.
