Abstract: PURPOSE: An antibacterial composition containing Kjellemaiella crassifolia extract or compound isolated from the same are provided to ensure excellent antibacterial activity and to prevent and treat bacteria infectious diseases. CONSTITUTION: An antibacterial composition contains Kjellemaiella crassifolia extract or compound isolated from the same as an active ingredient. The Kjellemaiella crassifolia extract is isolated using water including purified water, low alcohol of C1-C4, hexane, chloroform, methylene chloride, ethyl acetate, glycerin, butylene glycol, or mixture solvent thereof. The compound isolated from Kjellemaiella crassifolia extract is 5,7,8-trihydroxy flavone(norwogonin) or 5,7,8-trihydroxyflavoen-7-O-glucuronide. A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating bacteria infectious diseases contains Kjellemaiella crassifolia or compound isolated from the same as an active ingredient.
