Abstract: PURPOSE: An anti-diabetic composition is provided to suppress blood sugar increase and reduction of insulin secretion and to effectively apply for suppressing type I diabetes. CONSTITUTION: An anti-diabetic composition contains Acanthopanax Senticosus extract as an active ingredient. The Acanthopanax Senticosus extract is extract fermentation of which anti-diabetic effect is enhanced. A method for extracting Acanthopanax Senticosus comprises: a step of heating 1kg of Acanthopanax Senticosus in 10L of ethanol at 60-80°C for three hours; a step of filtering the extract and repeating; and a step of filtering the extract and concentrating under 60°C to obtain average 70 Brix of dried extract. A method for fermenting the extract comprises: a step of suspending the dried extract in purified water; a step of sterilizing 1L of suspended extract at high temperature and high pressure and cooling; a step of adding 10ml of Lactobacillus plantarum; and a step of fermenting the mixture at 30-32°C for two weeks.
