Abstract: PURPOSE: A membrane-electrode assembly is provided to improve cold starting ability by reducing a volume of a gas diffusion layer and to increase flow surface area of reaction gas by obtaining flow channels of a separator. CONSTITUTION: A membrane-electrode assembly(20) arranged between separators in which channels(CH) are formed, and gas-diffusion layers(23) formed on both sides of a membrane-electrode layer(21). On the gas diffusion layer, a membrane-electrode layer, which corresponds with the channel, is exposed. The gas diffusion layer comprises an exposed part(41) exposing the membrane-electrode layer and corresponding with the channels and an adhesion part(43) attached to a land part(LD) of the external side of the channel.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A fuel cell stack is provided to improve cooling performance by preventing inflow of air bubbles which are generated in a coolant inlet manifold through a coolant channel. CONSTITUTION: A fuel cell stack(100) comprises: a membrane-electrode assembly(30) comprising an electrolyte membrane, a fuel electrode and an air electrode; a separators(40) arranged between both sides of the membrane-electrode assembly. On one side of the separator coolant channels are formed. On both side ends of the separator a coolant inlet manifold(48) and a coolant outlet manifold(49) are formed. The coolant inlet manifold is connected to the coolant channel through a connection channel, and comprises a first space part opposite to the connection channel, and a second space part trapping air bubbles.
