Abstract: PURPOSE: A power train of an automatic transmission for a vehicle is provided to reduce the development cost of the new power train, and to improve drivability and fuel consumption ratio by reducing the reduction ratio by speed ranges. CONSTITUTION: In a power train of an automatic transmission for a vehicle, plural planetary gear sets(PG1,PG2) are combined to an input shaft(2) connected to an engine through a torque converter and one planetary set(PG3) is disposed to an output shaft(4) horizontally installed while leaving a space from the input shaft. A manual speed-changing mechanism(20) to achieve more increase of speed than the supreme speed range of the power train is disposed to the rear end of the input shaft and the output shaft. The manual speed-changing mechanism comprises an input gear(22) disposed to the input shaft; a driven gear(24) disposed to the output shaft without rotational interference; and a synchronizing mechanism(26) comprising a synchronizer mechanism connecting the driven gear to the output shaft according to the manual operation of a select lever of a driver's seat.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An installing structure of an oil cooler for an automatic transmission of a vehicle is provided to raise oil temperature rapidly to specific degree and to improve cooling efficiency by passing outer air forcibly through a built-out oil cooler when oil temperature is high. CONSTITUTION: An installing structure of an oil cooler for an automatic transmission(1) of a vehicle includes a built-out oil cooler(20) to be installed integrally with a rear side of a cooling fan(5). The cooling fan is installed in the back side of a radiator tank(3). The built-out oil cooler is combined with a shroud and a leg of the cooling fan by a bolt. One side of the oil cooler is formed an inlet to be flowed oil from a built-in oil cooler(10). The other side of the built-out oil cooler is formed an outlet to be drained oil to the automatic transmission. Thereby, durability of the automatic transmission and cooling efficiency are improved.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A planetary gear is provided to form a ring gear into an elliptical shape by pressing after molding into a circular shape and to reduce the generation of noise and smoothly transfer power by securing a proper gearing state between the ring gear and a pinion gear. CONSTITUTION: The length of a short axis direction of a ring gear(R) is shorter than the length of a long axis direction of the ring gear so that pinion gears(P) which is supported by a carrier(C) accomplishes an optimum gearing state with the ring gear. The ring gear is molded as a circular shape. The ring gear which is molded is formed into an elliptical shape by pressing. A center control part and an assembly improvement part are alternately formed according to a circumferential direction of the ring gear.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An auto transmission noise reduction structure is provided to prevent the generation of noise by supporting exciting force which is added in an input shaft by a torque converter. CONSTITUTION: An oil pump(3) is arranged to be contiguous to a torque converter. A front bearing(7) surrounds the outer diameter part of an input shaft on an inner diameter part of the oil pump and supports. An oil pump cover is fixed to a transmission case. Oil pump housing(15) is arranged between the oil pump cover and the torque converter and is connected to the oil pump cover. A rotor is inserted between the oil pump cover and the oil pump housing. A reaction shaft for fixing a stator of the torque converter is inserted into an inner diameter part of the oil pump cover. The front bearing is arranged in the rear side of the reaction shaft.

Abstract: A gear train in a 9-shift automatic transmission is provided to improve fuel efficiency by effectively delivering power from an engine to the automatic transmission. A first transmission includes first and second input paths(IP1,IP2) and one middle output path(MOP). A rotational power is selectively inputted to the input paths, which include first and second simple planetary gear sets(PG1,PG2). The middle output path changes a rotation speed and a rotation direction of the rotational power from the first and second input paths. A second transmission includes third and fourth simple planetary gear sets(PG3,PG4), receives the rotational power from the middle output path through first and second middle input paths, and converts the rotational power to 9 forward and 3 backward speeds.
