Abstract: A brake control apparatus and a brake control method of a hybrid electric car are provided to prevent a vibration in the brake torque by hydraulic control by expanding a dead zone by a brake controlling unit when the vibration is generated in the recovery brake torque. A brake control apparatus of a hybrid electric car includes a brake switch(1), a brake controlling unit(2), and a recovery brake controlling unit(3). The brake switch senses a driver's brake pedal pushing degree. The brake controlling unit calculates a maximum recovery brake allowable amount and supplies the calculated maximum recovery brake allowable amount to the recovery brake controlling unit. The recovery brake controlling unit determines a recovery brake amount based on a motor generation limit and a battery charging limit to notify the determined recovery brake amount to the brake controlling unit to perform recovery brake control. The brake control apparatus further includes a vibration sensing unit(4) to sense a vibration in a wheel during the brake control and supplies the vibration to the brake controlling unit.
