PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic continuous and random access analytical system having an apparatus and a method capable of simultaneously performing a plurality of assays of liquid samples by using different assay methods, capable of performing continuous and random access and performing a plurality of different assays to the same sample or to different samples during the same time, and a method for operating the automatic random access system capable of performing simultaneously a plurality of assays to a plurality of liquid samples. SOLUTION: In this method, various assays of the plurality of liquid samples are scheduled, and then a unit dose disposable is generated without starting an assay reaction sequence, and a first liquid sample and a reagent are transferred separately to a reaction vessel. Thereafter, the unit dose disposable is transferred physically to a treatment work station, and thereby the unit dose disposable is mixed with the sample at the incubation time. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automated continuous random access analytical system which has an apparatus and a method whereby a plurality of assays for a liquid sample can be carried out simultaneously with the use of different assay methods, providing a continuous random access, and moreover, carrying out a plurality of different assays to the same or different samples within the same period of time. SOLUTION: Various assays for a plurality of liquid samples are scheduled. Then, a disposable unit quantity is generated, and the first liquid sample 26 and a reagent 30 are separately moved to a reaction container 34 without starting an assay reaction sequence. Thereafter, the disposable unit quantity 34 is physically moved to a process work station. A mixture 34 of the disposable unit quantity of the reagent and the sample is obtained while being incubated.

SOLUTION: In this method, the various tests on the plurality of liquid samples are scheduled, and a disposable unit amount is created; without starting a test reaction sequence, a first liquid sample 26 and a reagent 30 are individually transferred to a reaction vessel 34; then the disposable unit amount 34 is physically transferred to a treatment work station 46. As a result of this, a mixture 34 of the unit amount reagent and the sample is obtained during culturing.
