Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable to extremely easily realize the solid state extrusion molding of synthetic resin without employing any special extrusion equipment by a method wherein ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene melt is employed as hydraulic medium directly contacting with synthetic resin stock. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, a synthetic resin stock billet 6 is pressed against a die 3. Secondly, powdered ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene is poured between the stock billet 6 and an extrusion vessel and, after that, heated by a heater 5 up to a desired temperature. Because the ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene melt has a large number of entanglements between molecular chains and high melt viscosity and is rubber-like elastic body, pressure near to static water pressure is applied through the melt 7 on the whole synthetic resin stock by applying load with a plunger 8 resulting in extruding the stock billet 6 through the hole of a die 3. Because pressure is applied on the whole synthetic resin stock, no void is produced in the deformation of the resin during extrusion and an extrusion-molded part with uniform structure in longitudinal direction is obtained.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce the subject polymer having the melting temperature to a practically sufficient extent and capable of exhibiting an excellent color tone and an excellent mechanical strength by including plural specific ester parts and further a silicon-containing connecting group derived from a silicon compound in a specific proportion. SOLUTION: This polymer comprises an ether group-containing ester group represented by formula I (R5 is a 1-10C ether group-containing bifunctional aliphatic group; R6 is a 4-12C ether-containing bifunctional aliphatic group; t is 0 or 1) and at least one kind of ester part selected from an oxycarboxylic acid ester part represented by formula II (R3 is a 1-12C bivalent aliphatic group) and a carbonic acid ester part represented by formula III and further a silicon- containing connecting group derived from a silicon compound having a silicon bond represented by SiOR (R is H or an organic group) or forming the silicon bond during a reaction in an amount of 1×107 to 0.1 molar fraction based on the total ester groups in the molecular chain. The polymer is capable of exhibiting biodegradability and chemical recyclability.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer film which mainly comprises polybutylene succinate and has a good transparency and mechanical strength. SOLUTION: An aliphatic polyester film is a film which comprises an aliphatic polyester containing an ester bond of the formula: -[O(CH2 )4 OCO(CH2 )2 CO]- as a main component at the principal chain and has a sonic elastic modulus at 25 deg.C of 1.5 GPa or larger and a haze value of 40% or smaller. The aliphatic polyester film is produced by molding an aliphatic polyester containing the ester bond represented by the formula as a main component at the principal chain into a film form, and rolling the obtained film at a temperature higher than the glass transition temperature of the aliphatic polyester but lower than the melting point thereof, to obtain a film having a sonic elastic modulus at 25 deg.C of 1.5 GPa or larger and a haze value of 40% or smaller.

A>=B>=23 (kgf/mm )...(1). B/A>=0.85...(2), where A is the initial bending strength of this bone treating implement and B is the bending strength after immersion measured after the bone treating implement is immersed for 90 days in a phosphoric acid buffer soln. kept at 37 deg.C.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject formed material containing elongated cavities between fibrils and composed of aggregate of fibrils oriented in one direction, by mixing a self-orientable liquid crystal polymeric substance with a non-liquid crystal polymeric substance soluble in a solvent, extrusion molding the mixture and extracting the non-liquid crystal polymeric substance from the extrudate. CONSTITUTION:A self-orientable liquid crystal polymeric substance (preferably thermotropic liquid crystal polyester) is mixed with a non-liquid crystal polymeric substance (preferably polyethylene terephthalate) soluble in a solvent (e.g., trifluoroacetic acid) at a weight ratio of 70:30-40:60, the mixture is extrusion molded and the non-liquid crystal polymeric substance is extracted with a solvent to obtain the objective formed material containing elongated cavities (preferably having a width of 0.3-5mum) between fibrils, composed of aggregate of fibrils oriented in one direction, preferably having a gas-permeability of 20-1sec/100ml and suitable especially for hot-gas filter.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To give physical properties fully satisfying with the requirements as the base material of magnetic recording tape such as strength and elastic modulus by a method wherein the film mainly consisting of polyethylene terephthalate is characterized with the specified structural and mechanical factors. CONSTITUTION:The titled film is obtained by forcibly drawing un-orientated amorphous polyester film through a pair of rolls with a narrow gap and, after that, heat-treating the drawn film. The film is characterized with: (a) A crystal face of the film is face-oriented to the surface of the film. (b) An orientation index of the film, which is obtained from the half-width of X-ray diffraction intensity in the direction of the orientation angle of a 010 crystal face, is 92% or more. (c) The images by small-angle X-ray scattering in the edgewise direction of the film show four point images in the shape of laminar lines. (d) The dynamic elastic modulus of the film measured by applying 110Hz vibration is 11 GPs or higher. (e) The shearing strength of the film is 250 MPa or more.

SOLUTION: In polycondensation reaction using (i) a mixture of an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid (or its diester) with an aliphatic diol or (ii) a precondensate obtained from the mixture as a reaction raw material in the presence of a transesterification catalyst comprising an iron-based catalyst or the iron-based catalyst and a co-catalyst, this method for producing the aliphatic polyester- based polymer comprises using at least one protonic acid or its ester selected from the group consisting of an organic phosphonic acid represented by general formula (1) O=P(OH)2R or O=P(OH)R2 (R is an aliphatic group or an aromatic group), a silicate represented by formula (2) (RO)2SiR2 (R is an aliphatic group or an aromatic group), phosphoric acid, ammonium phosphate, an aliphatic and/or aromatic compound having sulfonate group or sulfate group and sulfuric acid as the co-catalyst.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for preparing a polymer polyester or polyester copolymer from a cyclic lactone through ring-opening polymerization. SOLUTION: In a preparation process of a polymer polyester, a cyclic lactone of the formula (wherein, (n) is 1, 3 or 4) is allowed to react under a high- pressure condition of at least 200 MPa without using a catalyst. Alternatively, in the absence of catalysts or in the presence of a non-metal esterification catalyst, a lactone mixture comprising two or more cyclic lactones of the formula is allowed to react under a high-pressure condition of at least 200 MPa.

SOLUTION: (A) An aliphatic dicarboxylic acid or an ester thereof of formula I (R1 is a 1-12C divalent aliphatic group; R11 is H, a lower alkyl or an aryl; t is 0 or 1), and (B) an aliphatic diol of formula II (R2 is a 2-12C divalent aliphatic group) are used as reaction raw materials, and subjected to a polycondensation reaction in the presence of (C) an acidic phosphorus compound and (D) an ester-exchange reaction catalyst in nonsolvent to provide the objective high molecular weight aliphatic polyester-based polymer having >=30,000 number average molecular weight. If necassary, at least one kind of compounds selected from an oxycarboxylic acid-based compound, a carbonic ester-based compound, and a polyglycerol-based compound can be added to the reaction raw materials.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid-crystalline polymeric microsphere, having a prescribed average grain diameter, excellent in solvent resistance and useful as a filler, etc., by mixing a liquid crystal polymer having self-orienting properties with a solvent-soluble liquid-noncrystalline polymer in a specific proportion, then carrying out the extrusion molding under specified conditions, dissolving and removing the liquid-noncrystalline polymer. CONSTITUTION:(A) A liquid crystal polymer having self-orienting properties is mixed with (B) a solvent-soluble liquid-noncrystalline polymer such as polyethylene terephthalate at a weight ratio within the range of (30/70) to (10/90) and the resultant mixture is subsequently heated at the melting temperature of the components (A) and (B) or above in which the component (A) is capable of maintaining the liquid crystal state and then subjected to the extrusion molding. The component (B) is subsequently dissolved and removed with a solvent to afford the objective microsphere having 0.5-10mum average grain diameter.
