Abstract: Multimetal oxide compsn. of formula (I) is new: (A)p(B)q(I): A = Mo12X aX bX cX dSeX fO x; B = X 12CugX hOy; X = P, As, B, Ge and/or Si; X = V, Nb and/or W; X = H, up to 97 mole-% of which may be replaced by K, Rb, Cs and/or NH4; X = Sb and/or Bi; X = Re and/or Rh; X = Mp, W, Nb and/or Ta; X = Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs and/or NH4; a = 1-6; b, d = 0-6; c = 3-5; e, f = 0-3; g = 4-24; h = 0-20; x, y = values depending on the valency and content of elements other than O; p, q = values other than O, with the ratio p/q = 12:0.1 to 12:48. The A and B fractions are each in the form of 3D zones, which differ in chemical compsn. from their local surroundings, and the relative distribution of the A and B zones is as in a mixt. of finely-divided A and finely-divided B.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing alkyl(meth)acrylate by continuous reaction of an aqueous solution containing (meth)acrylic acid obtained directly from gas-phase oxidation by reacting with a straight-chain or branched alkanol with 1 to 6 C atoms or a mixture of two or more thereof in the presence of an esterification catalyst. The inventive method is characterized in that alkanol is introduced into aqueous solution containing (meth)acrylic acid in the form of a gas.
