    Abstract: Binder preparation with a minimum film-forming temperature below 10 degrees C, based on a dispersion containing anionic and non-ionic emulsifiers and a copolymer of 20-50 wt% vinyl-aromatic monomer, 45-70 wt% 1-18C alkyl acrylate or 5-18C alkyl methacrylate which forms a homopolymer with a Tg below 10 degrees C, 2-4 wt% methacrylic acid and optionally other comonomers. A binder preparation with a minimum film-forming temperature (MFT) below 10 degrees C, based on a binder polymer (P) in the form of an aqueous dispersion containing anionic emulsifier(s) and non-ionic emulsifier(s), in which (P) is a copolymer of (A1) 20-50 wt% vinyl-aromatic monomer(s), (A2) 0-15 wt% 1-4C alkyl (meth)acrylate(s), (A3) 0-30 wt% (meth)acrylonitrile, (B) 45-70 wt% monomer(s) which form a homopolymer with a glass transition point (Tg) below 10 degrees C, selected from 1-18C alkyl acrylates and 5-18C alkyl methacrylates, (C) 2-4 wt% methacrylic acid, (D) 0-3 wt% monomer(s) selected from amides, 1-4C hydroxyalkyl esters and 1-4C alkyl-polyalkyleneoxide-esters of 3-6C mono-unsaturated monocarboxylic acids and (E) 0-5 wt% other monomer(s), where the total amount of monomers (A1)-(A3) does not exceed 55 wt% of the total monomer content and the content of (A2) is at least 5 wt% if the content of (A3) is less than 0.5 wt%.
