Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a stabilizer system which may be used both in a polymer dispersion and a plastic composition and can be prepared by a simple and, simultaneously, harmless method to the components. SOLUTION: A polymer dispersion or polymer solution is formed of at least one polymer phase comprising one or plural stabilizers suitable for protecting an organic material from the damaging action by light, heat and/or oxidation. It is preferred that the dispersion medium or the solvent essentially has water. The dispersion, solution and polymer thus prepared can be simultaneously added to the organic material at a desired point.

Abstract: Ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von zur Modifikation von mineralischen Bindebaustoffen geeignetem Polymerisatpulver durch Trocknung einer wäßrigen Polymerisatdispersion, deren Film eine Glasübergangstemperatur Tg ≤ 30°C aufweist, nach Zusatz von Trocknungshilfsmittel, bei dem man der wäßrigen Polymerisatdispersion vorab ihrer Trocknung als Trocknungshilfsmittel entweder nur im mit Wasser gebrauchsfertig angemachten mineralischen Bindebaustoff verflüssigend wirkende oder nur im mit Wasser gebrauchsfertig angemachten mineralischen Bindebaustoff verfestigend wirkende Trocknungshilfsmittel zusetzt, und dem nach der Trocknung resultierenden Polymerisatpulver im Anschluß an die Trocknung wenigstens ein Hilfsmittel als feinteiliger Feststoff zumischt, das die Fließgrenze des mit Wasser gebrauchsfertig angemachten mineralischen Bindebaustoffs in entgegengesetzter Weise beeinflußt, wie das vorab der Trocknung zugesetzte Trocknungshilfsmittel.

Abstract: The production of polymer powder (I) suitable for the modification of mineral binder building materials, involves drying an aqueous polymer dispersion which forms films with a Tg of not above 30 degrees C, where before drying, the dispersion is treated with drying agents (IIa) which have a liquefying action on the mineral binder when it is mixed with water and ready for use; after drying, the powder (I) is treated with finely divided solid additive(s) (IIIa) which have a solidifying action on the binder/water mix. Alternatively, the dispersion is treated with solidifying driers (IIb) before drying, and the dried powder is treated with finely divided solid additives (IIIb) which have a liquefying action on the mix. Also claimed are: (i) polymer powder (I) obtained by this process; (ii) mineral binders containing (I); and (iii) dry mortar preparations containing 20-60 wt% mineral binder, 0.1-20 wt% (I) and up to 25 wt% conventional additives, the remainder consisting of sand, fillers, pigments and natural and/or synthetic fibres.

Abstract: Products of the condensation of sulphonated phenols, urea, further organic nitrogen bases and formaldehyde, obtainable by (A) sulphonation of phenols using from 1.0 to 1.5 mol of sulphuric acid per mole of phenol and (B) condensation of these sulphonation products with (a) from 0.5 to 1.8 mol of urea per mole of phenol, (b) from 0.001 to 0.5 mol of at least one further organic nitrogen base per mole of phenol, and (c) from 1.0 to 3.0 mol of formaldehyde per mole of phenol. The condensation products are suitable as tanning agents in the production of leather and pelts and as spray assistants for redispersible polymer powders.
