Abstract: An agent for the surface modification of fillers for polyamide compositions comprises: (A) an amino-functional silane, a bis-aminosilane a tertiary aminosilane or an oligomer of these; (B) a mixture of an amino-functional silane, bis-aminosilane and/or tertiary aminosilane and an alkyl-, alkenyl- or polyether-functional silane and optionally an oligomer of these; or (C) a mixture of an alkyl-functional silane and an alkenyl-functional silane and optionally an oligomer of these. An agent for the surface modification of fillers for polyamide compositions comprises either: (A) an agent comprising: (i) an amino-functional silane of formula (Ia); (ii) a bis-aminosilane (Ib); (iii) a tertiary aminosilane (Ic); or an oligomer of (Ia)-(Ic) with a degree of oligomerization (DO) of 2-20; (B) a mixture of: (i) a component comprising (a) an amino-functional silane of formula (IIa), (b) a secondary aminosilane (IIb) and/or (c) a tertiary aminosilane (IIc); and (ii) a component comprising either (a) an alkyl-functional silane of formula (III), (b) an alkenyl-functional silane of formula (IV), (c) a polyether-functional silane of formula (V); and optionally (iii) an oligomer of (IIa)-(IIc) and (III)-(V) with a DO of 2-20; or (C) a mixture of: (i) an alkyl-functional silane of formula (IIIa); and (ii) an alkyl-functional silane of formula (IV); and optionally (iii) an oligomer of (IIIa) and (IV) with a DO of 2-20. RNH-(CH2)3-Si(Me)x(Z)3-x (Ia) Z = 1-3C alkoxy, OH or Cl; x = 0 or 1; and R = 1-20C alkyl, 5-12C cycloalkyl or 6-12C aryl. R-Si(Me)x(Z)3-x (IIa) Z = 1-3C alkoxy, OH or Cl; x = 0 or 1; R = H2N((CH2)2NH)y(CH2)3; and y = 0-2. R'-Si(Me)x(Z)3-x (IIIa) Z = 1-3C alkoxy, OH or Cl; x = 0-1; and R' = optionally fluorinated 1-16C alkyl or cycloalkyl. CH2=CH(CH2)n-Si(Me)x(Z)3-x (IV) Z = 1-3C alkoxy, OH or Cl; x = 0 or 1; and n = 0-20. R(OCH2CHR')nO(CH2)mSi (Me)x(Z)3-x (V) z = 1-3C alkoxy, OH or Cl; x = 0 or ; R = 1-4C alkyl; R' = H or Me; n = 5-20; and m = 2 or 3. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a filler surface-modified with the above agent; (2) an article comprising the surface-modified filler; (3) a filled polyamide composition produced using the surface-modified filler; and (4) an article based on the filled polyamide composition.

Las espumas PUR rígidas basadas en isocianato pueden prepararse mediante la reaccion de este componente poliol con poliisocianatos orgánicos y/o orgánicos modificados y pueden utilizarse como materiales aislante en el sector de la construccion.

Abstract: A process for the production of stable dispersions (I) of melamine in polyol components comprising high-mol. wt. compound(s) with at least two reactive hydrogens and optionally low-mol. wt. chain extenders/crosslinkers, blowing agents, catalysts, fire retardants and other additives etc.. In this process, melamine is used as fire retardant in combination with amine(s) (II) and unmodified and/or modified organic isocyanate(s) (III). Also claimed is a process for the production of fireproofed polyurethane (PU) foam, by reacting isocyanates as above with other components as above, using melamine dispersions (I) as fire retardant. Preferably the process comprises adding melamine as fire retardant, followed by amines (II) and then isocyanates (III). The polyol component contains 1-50 wt% melamine, preferably with a particle size of 1-100 microns. (II) comprise prim. and/or sec. aliphatic and/or cycloaliphatic amines, and (III) comprise aromatic isocyanates or prepolymers with NCO groups, each in amounts of 0.05-5 wt% based on the polyol component.

Abstract: Prepolymers which contain isocyanate groups, have an NCO content of at least 30.0% by weight and can be prepared by reacting an isocyanate mixture consisting predominantly of diphenylmethane diisocyanates and polyphenylpolymethylene polyisocyanates and having a proportion of two-ring isomers of not more than 74% by weight with at least 4-functional polyols or a mixture of polyols having a mean functionality of at least 4, where the polyols or polyol mixtures have a hydroxyl number of from 200 to 1650 mg KOH/g and a number average molecular weight of less than 1100 g/mol. The present invention also provides a process for preparing these prepolymers containing isocyanate groups, provides for their use for producing polyurethanes and provides a process for producing polyurethanes by reacting at least one novel prepolymer containing isocyanate groups, if desired in admixture with further organic and/or modified organic isocyanates (a), with compounds having at least two reactive hydrogen atoms (b) in the presence of, if desired, blowing agents (c), catalysts (d) and, if desired, further auxiliaries and/or additives (e).
