Abstract: Aq. polymer dispersions, obtd. by radical polymerisation of monomers in aq. emulsion in presence of a polymeric protective colloid (A) with an average mol. wt. (Mw) of >20,000. Colloid (A) is a copolymer of 5-50 wt. % unsatd. monomer(s) with acid or acid anhydride gp(s). (monomers I), 0.1-80 wt.% (meth)acrylate ester(s) of at least 10C aliphatic alcohols (monomers II), 0-94.9 wt.% "principal monomers", comprising 1-9C alkyl (meth)acrylates, vinyl esters of 1-20C carboxylic acids, up to 20C vinylaromatics, unsatd. nitriles, vinyl halides and/or 2-8C aliphatic hydrocarbons with 1 or 2 double bonds (monomers III) and 0-60 wt.% other monomers (IV). Also claimed is the above process for the prodn. of aq. polymer dispersions.

Abstract: The invention relates to an improved process for the production of mouldings from fibre-reinforced plastic, in which the fibre materials are subjected to pretreatment with a thermocurable resin which contains A) at least one amino-containing polymerisation, polyaddition and/or polycondensation product having a mean molecular weight Mn of from 500 to 10,000 and containing on average at least two hydroxyl, primary and/or secondary amino groups per molecule, and B) at least one crosslinking agent from the group consisting of polyureas, polyurea-polyurethanes, urea condensation products, amino resins and/or phenolic resins, and to the use of the thermocurable resins as sizes and/or binders for fibre materials, preferably made from glass, carbon, aromatic polyamides (nylons) and aromatic polyesters.

Abstract: The invention relates to products of a reaction of condensation products based on substituted ureas with diisocyanates and/or polyisocyanates, their preparation and their use. These reaction products each contain at least two cyclic urea units and can be prepared either by reacting primary diamines or polyamines with ureas and subsequently reacting the products with predominantly C-H-acidic aldehydes or by reacting primary amines with isocyanates, subsequently reacting the products with predominantly C-H-acidic aldehydes in the presence of acidic catalysts and subsequently reacting the products with diisocyanates and/or polyisocyanates. These products are suitable for the preparation of heat-curable coating compositions and for the preparation of binders for cathodic electrodeposition coating.
