Abstract: Metal-polyurethane-metal sandwich elements are repaired by cutting out the damaged part, removing the plastic interlayer so that the metal extends by at least 7 cm beyond the plastic at the cut edge, replacing the cut-out metal with new metal and reacting isocyanates with isocyanate-reactive compounds in the space thus formed between the metal layers. A method for repairing composite elements comprising the following layers: (i) 1-20 mm metal, (ii) 10-300 mm polyisocyanate-polyaddition product obtained by reacting (a) isocyanates with (b) isocyanate-reactive compounds (iii) 1-20 mm metal. The method involves cutting out a section containing (i), (ii) and optionally (iii), removing (ii) at the cut surfaces of the remaining element so that layer (i) and optionally (iii) extends beyond (ii) by a distance (x) of at least 7 cm, replacing the cut-out metal by new layer(s) (ia) and optionally (iiia) and bonding these new layers with the remaining layers (i and iii), and then reacting components (a) and (b) in the space thus formed between the metal layers. Independent claims are also included for composite elements obtained by this method and ships or buildings containing such composite elements.

Abstract: Metal-polyurethane-metal composite elements are bonded with one another by forming elements in which the outer metal layers extend at least 7.5 cm beyond the polyurethane, fixing the elements together and then bonding them by reacting isocyanates with NCO-reactive compounds in the space between. Bonding composite elements with a layer structure comprising (i) 2-20 mm metal, (ii) 10-300 mm polyisocyanate-polyaddition product obtained by reacting (a) isocyanates with (b) NCO-reactive compounds and (iii) 2-20 mm metal, in which layers (i) and (iii) extend beyond layer (ii) by a distance (x) of at least 7.5 cm, and the two elements are fixed together and then bonded by reacting (a) with (b) in the space between (i) and (iii). Independent claims are also included for composite elements obtained by this method and for hips or buildings containing such elements.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the production of methylenedi(phenylamine) by reacting aniline with formaldehyde in the presence of acid catalysts. The method is characterized in that aniline and optionally an acid catalyst are treated in a semi-continuos method; formaldehyde and optionally an acid catalyst are fed through a mixing organ in a circuit in which aniline, optionally an acid catalyst and optionally an already added formaldehyde are circulated and tempering the reaction mixture at a temperature of over 75 ~C after feeding at least 50 % of the total amount of formaldehyde. The invention also relates to a method for the production of polyisocyanates by phosgenating the amines thus obtained and the polyisocyanates obtained according to this method.
